It's the biggest issue of the day. It's driving America crazy. You're white and almost certainly had an ancestor or two who owned a slave. Common sense is out the window. This emotional obstacle stands in the way of your getting on with your life. It keeps you up at night. You have to say, at least 20 times a day, in some way or another, "I'm not racist!" (And too many of you have to do it via clouding up this forum).
Let's just get it out of the way and onto the record here and now. Let's get over it. Check in here if you're white and not racist. We'll declare this list official, forward a copy onto the U.S. Government's Division of Weights and Measures, and you can find something else to obsess about from now on.
Checking in will prove that you're not racist. Adding "I voted for Obama" or "I have a black friend" is optional and welcome but NOT necessary.

My great great uncle was in the KKK. We think. Not sure.
I suppose that makes me guilty or something.
Also, I have a good job, my kids go to private school and we live in the suburbs.

I'm no more racist than the next guy, and that's saying a lot considering some of my former residences will turn even the most liberal everyone is equal person into a racist.

I'm proud to say I've had several professional acquaintances of African-American descent, and all of my dealings with them were cordial.

My great-great grandfather freed all his slaves upon his death, and gave them each 5 acres of land in East Texas. I am not racist, but cannot stand able-bodied people who live off the government....

I'm Irish-Catholic, my ancestors were considered only slightly better than slaves.
That being said, we hate everyone equally. Jews, blacks, Italians, Protestants, Poles, Asians..ect. The only people we hate more than those are the English.
