I can't stand ignorance. I don't like Obama but some of the shite people accuse him of is just downright annoying.

Exactly. I don't like the guy but why lie about him?

Heaven forbid you talk bad about Reagan or Bush.

There will never be a perfect president. People need to realize that.

My heavily conservative grandmother stunned me the other day when she agreed with me that while Reagan was a good president, some of his policies are the reason we had a recession in 2008 and are struggling economically right now. I couldn't believe it.

Obama without a doubt has been the worst president in my lifetime. I'm just hopeful the Republicans actually nominate somebody worth a damn for 2016.

Ehhhh, Bush killed the economy first. So, I can't put all the blame on Obama. He is essentially a lame duck President at this point. Not much he can do.

My point is one created a mess....the other failed to clean up the mess.....so both would be linked to the joint failure. That's just being objective. It has nothing to do with political ties. I don't believe you can say either was a very good President.

Back on track....hearing the big push had to do with trying to pry UMMC away from Ole Miss. Anyone else hearing this and what would that mean to the Med Center (it's day to day ops have a huge impact to me professionally so "I is a wondering")?

Holy shite my family is the same way.

"That's the thing with the libs. If you disagree with anything you say, you're not only wrong but you're automatically a bigot. It's black and white with them."

What my family doesn't realize is if I even have some moderate or left viewpoint on any issue of merit then I am, in their mind, a spineless, Islamic liberal hell bent on ruining the Western world.

It used to be funny, but now it has gotten annoying.

Really weird considering that UMMC is the only hospital I the Jackson area to be in the black the past 2 years. Barely in the black but that is great for a State level 1 Trauma Center.

My dad is the exact same way, and what's bizarre is that he's a smart guy who's been pretty successful in life. Fox News could spoon feed him anything they could imagine, with little questioning.

My dad is also a Southern Baptist deacon, which of course explains a lot

Dan has done a lot off good things for the school. But unfortunately he picked some smaller battles that had the university divided. And when that happens you lose your backing. You pissed off too many people Daniel. So it's goodbye and farewell.

The 2 "Ole Miss heavy" people on the board voted to fire him. One is an extremely large Ole Miss donor and the other is a top Doctor. Them voting to fire Dan tells me all I need to know about the situation

Aren't those two Barbour appointees?

To be honest, no idea. But from what is being said, both have a history of being extremely pro Ole Miss and put Ole Miss' interests first. I just think there is a lot more to the story. But I also left Mississippi last year so I'm not exactly tied in to Mississippi politics anymore.
