ATHENS - Georgia's annual pro day is always a good people-watching occasion, normally for the big NFL coaching names and former Georgia stars now in the NFL. This year's pro day, however, took a bit of a different turn.

It was former Georgia players and coaches who have recently left the program who stood out.

Mike Bobo, the former offensive coordinator, was back, as was former offensive line coach Will Friend. Both left before the bowl game for Colorado State, Bobo as head coach and Friend as offensive coordinator. But with CSU on spring break, both were back in town and decided to drop by for pro day.

Those coaches left on good terms for better jobs, so it wasn't too surprising to see them. That wasn't quite the case for two former defensive backs who were also in attendance Wednesday.

Shaq Wiggins, who transferred to Louisville last year, was also there, hanging around with former teammates. So was Sheldon Dawson, who left the team midway through last season.

Dawson, who was a junior when he left the team last September, said he has not latched on with another program. Instead he has been working out with former Georgia teammates Damian Swann and Todd Gurley, hoping to get a chance in the pros.

Dawson also said that Georgia head coach Mark Richt has hooked him up with a mentor who has been helping him.
