Could be in the joint for drug offenses and not violent crimes.

More than likely it's just minor drug offenses

A lot of catfish farmers used to get inmates from the state pen to work on the farms here in the delta about 10 years ago.

Then they stopped sending them when some of the inmates disappeared. The farmers said they ran off, but I came to find out a couple of the farmers were shooting the inmates when they fricked up or caused a problem and burying them in the bottom of the ponds

Holy shite! Did the farmers actually get caught and arrested, or was it just speculation?

No they didn't get caught. They had enough money at the time they paid off the right people. It's not speculation I was told firsthand stories from people who worked for them. One black guy I know who was a manager said he buried 3 with a backhoe and tossed a couple more in democrat lake. And yes that is the actual name of the lake it's on google maps, east of swifttown on the Leflore/humphreys county line. Karma got the guys who did it..they're all broke now with nothing. Lost all their money gambling in Vegas

There's some shite that goes on here that most don't know about. Planes loaded with cocaine landing on cropduster runways at night, illegal gambling houses, hired hitmen. My grandfather used to refer to delta farmers here as the Mississippi mafia.

You could make a hell of a movie on the shite that has happened around here the past 30 years

Non-violent crimes make up the vast majority of the crimes inmates are serving time for and drug crimes take up the biggest portion of that.
