I'm going to hoover for the first time this year and I see they have an option to buy a parking pass. Is it really necessary? They make it sound like if you don't buy a parking pass you won't be able to park anywhere. Anybody have any experience with this?

No, cut through the neighborhood by Hoover High School & then you can park in the lot behind left field with easy access in & out.

Majority of parking is free at the park anyway, but the lot behind left field is usually the easiest to exit.

Parking is not a problem. The only problem is getting out of there when there is a big crowd.

I've never paid to park there however, if they do charge to park, there is more than enough parking available!

I usually just run to the stadium from my parents and then towel off and change into spare clothes in the family bathroom.

I had no problem parking close to the stadium at the SEC Tourney last year and it was free.

Great insight - I'm sure this resolves OP's issues.

well yea, because there is plenty of free parking within a 6 mile radius. And now he knows it's a feasible place to run to.

Are you talking about the tournament or a regular season game with Alabama? I can't imagine a regular season game having parking problems. As someone said, getting out can take a while if it's a close game til the end and everyone stays and leaves at the same time. I have seen parking an issue at the tournament but usually it's an Auburn/Alabama game when both are good (so, it's been a while since I have witnessed that).

Parking not an issue but traffic is
All bets are off when Bama has a good team because the whole town shows up for their games

There is no need for a parking pass. The Hoover met has a giant parking lot right outside. In the past, it has all been free too.

Are you going to some random game at Regions or the tourney at the met?

The latter has a frick ton of parking but I'm not sure if it's required to buy a pass. Every time I've gone I've been working it so can't really help you there.
