Reading that thread on 247, apparently Wilkerson was working with the ones at Star. I saw a picture of RW recently and he was unrecognizeable from the skinny kid who showed up two years ago.

I call bullshite on the qbs not knowing the playbook because "it's a new offense." That goes against everything we have heard about the process from coaches, players and media. The playbook is being changed only a little. The vocabulary is being changed sure but they should have that under their belts by now.

Ramsey said that he is having trouble with the playbook and he is the most experienced QB. I think the original plan was for Shotty to learn Bobo's system but I read that the plan has changed.

I hope that you are correct and that I've been misled.

Maybe JP is clearly no 1 and the race and reps are for no2. Sneaky Richt.

I didn't see that. It could be true, but the cynic in me sees him covering his arse. He should be blowing the competition out of the water and he knows that.

Wilkerson is going to get some playing time this season. Wasn't he the one that was getting a lot of praise coming in before he tore his ACL or some type of injury. Looks like he's getting in the swing of things and should be ready to contribute

Richt said Lamont Gaillard, the defensive lineman now working at offensive guard, “would probably be one of the better athletes we would have on our offensive line,” but is still learning what to do at the position.

This quote from Richt just gets me thinking, "Great. Here comes another position roller coaster ride."

Seems like once linemen switch sides after being here awhile, they'll switch 'em back, then switch 'em back, then ... it's pretty much over. Shades of Justin Anderson.

Was really hoping Gaillard could be a real run stuffer in the middle. Apparently not. And I'm guessing he's pretty far away from contributing on the OL, so

His senior HS tape was really bad. I kind of thought he would never play, so this could be a positive move for him. A lot of times guys who aren't quite explosive enough to be good DTs are perfect fits as OGs.

It'll take some development, but he's still early in his career so there's hope for him. If they switch him back, then that's a real problem for his outlook.

But wasn't he a 5* and top 20ish national player as a junior? He may have gotten fat and lazy but it's not like his natural talent disappeared.

Anyways I'm not there so I don't know what they see everyday, I'll assume the coaches know what they're doing. I just hope this isn't another Kiante Tripp, who played roughly 12 positions for us during his tenure.

I get the feeling that he was pretty close to his athletic ceiling as a HS junior, and he just killed his competition. When he tried to put on weight as a senior, his frame (not particularly big for a major college DL prospect) wouldn't allow him to put on a ton of good weight and stay explosive. It seems like that problem has followed him to Georgia.

Bottom line: Sometimes recruiting services get it wrong. Rivals had him as a 3*.

Here's Coach Thomas Brown mic'd up from practice. Hicks looks like he is moving a lot quicker in the one clip I saw of him and AJ Turman is a big RB. Can't wait to see him scrimmage on Saturday
