I'm starting to think our offense is not as far along as hoped this spring.

Offense is rarely ever clicking in the Spring. Our coaches thought we were fricked after our Spring in 2012 and we all know how that turned out...

Yeah, I was taking that into account, but we seem to be less far along than usual, at least that's my impression. Defensive players saying the offense looks a little confused. Coaches saying receivers dropped 90 passes in the first 3 days of practice (don't know what's normal but that seems very high). I read that they're considering moving defensive backs to receiver for a few practices because of the lack of depth.

Nothing that won't get better with time, but I'm starting to think that we may have a slow start on offense next year. Opposing defenses will have their dial set to stop the run, so it would be nice if we can start the season with more than just a rudimentary passing game.

Enter Terry Godwin and let the man play for christs sake! That was my one problem with Ball he was so reluctant to play freshman but I don't think bmac will be that way

{Terry Godwin}

The man has to learn routes...not much help until he does.

Interested to see if they look at Slayton and Chigbu and Shaquery Wilson...or if those guys all redshirt...

Offense always sucks in spring practice, especially with a QB competition going on. It's hard for them and everybody who plays with them to develop any kind of rhythm.

Only a week in, with a new coordinator, 3 QB's rotating and folks are worried that we are not executing like the Patriots yet

The most fan-ish thing we can do is immediately believe that our defense is just supreme now. "Offense looks weak, defense must be whippin' their arse. JUNKYARD DAWGS BACK, YALL"

I don't see a need in even talking about the defense, as a top 1 finish in every statistical category is all but a given at this point.

If our offense can put up 6 ppg we goin to da ship.

There's pretty much nothing to be gleaned from spring practice typically as a fan who isn't there everyday. They're just doing basic install and drill repetition and trying to figure out what we have talent-wise with the younger guys. The QB battle is important obviously, but no one who isn't there all the time really knows how that's going.

The reporters are only watching like a 15 minute window during the viewing period.

Not to mention that shite is going to be even more shook up this summer given the immense talent coming in with the freshmen class.

Only once was I a part of the Railroad track crowd and it was painful but I got to see a great player. We were playing against Houston and Eugene "Mercury" Morris dominated the Dawgs.

I would say no big deal, except we need the depth at DT more than OG. I hope Hawkins makes it into school.

Not that much of a "wow"... I meant Stanley but wrote Slayton.
