Once Ole Missy's tad pad is gone, I say yes. Who in their right mind would want to play in this dump?

Coleman isn't nearly as bad as you people like to make it out to be.

Easily nicer than Humphrey at MSU. I can't compare to many others because I've only been to a few basketball venues in the SEC.

The only thing wrong with Coleman is the awful seating and lighting. With all of the $ dumped into it over the last 10 years, it does have some top notch accomodations.

That said, it produces a terrible atmosphere. We put the students in an awful spot and there are seats that face other seats. The optics on TV do the program no favors. IMO, we wasted millions when we renovated it. Should've held out for a new arena. It baffles me how some Bama fans dismiss any criticism of the place.

If you're judging arenas on optics & home court atmosphere...then yes, its probably going to be the towards the bottom of the SEC.

It just bothers me that the court goes a different direction than the arena.

It seats 15k and was recently remodeled. It ain't upper half but it's not the worst either.

All of the work in 2006 updated the exterior and concourses, as well luxury boxes. It's a solid looking arena from that perspective. But what everyone sees on television are the terrible court side seating and overall awful layout of the court.

I went to a football coaches clinic in Bama a few years ago.... everything about Coleman is nice but the actual arena itself (which is all most fans see). Just looks WAY out of date when you see the stuff around it. It's not awful but it could be a lot better as well.

Do they use poor wood or something? Ball doesn't bounce properly? Material too slick? What is it about the court itself that is awful from when you've been on it?

When will Bama get around to building its TBA equivalent?
