I wouldn't wish Pastner on my worst enemy. He CANNOT coach.
Four straight NCAA tournament appearances, brah. That's half of what we have in our entire history. They went 31-5 two seasons ago, too.

Pastner is not a great coach. He went 31-5 in CUsa. They played one ranked team all year before the NCAA tournament. Pastner has been able to continue to recruit well to Memphis, but he's very lacking as a head coach.
He didn't beat a ranked team at Memphis until last year.

I think he'll be able to haul in better recruits when we have the new arena. TSC is a compete embarassment that should have been replaced 15-20 years ago.

I was listening to Memphis sports radio on the way home and they went in to a clip of a Kennedy interview with "let's see what Coach K has to say"
So deceiving. I lol'd

If you think about it, what school is a bump up that isn't a basketball school?
He isn't seen as an elite coach or recruiter.
Maybe he needs a new house to get to the next level of talent that can maybe make top basketball schools look his way.
Until then I see only lateral movement, and moving to a region he isn't familiar with, might take a few years to get a foot hold.
He is well supporter by the athletic department at Ole Miss, his is getting a new arena and he doesn't have to meet unreasonable expectations at Ole Miss to keep his job.
Any school above Ole Miss would have increased pressures to be more successful and why would you put yourself in that position?
