a lot of them in '09 convinced themselves Tom Izzo was coming since he and Nick are BFF.

Sorry for hurting your feelings so badly that you decided to lash out without providing a single example to back up your point. I hope you are able to recover from the butthurt

I joined tidefans before td.com (I was making a road trip to bama and had serious questions about hotels food whatnot). was banned in less than an hour and my email about why was "go back to baton rouge you stupid coonass"

Should've asked here. What do you like food wise? Archibald's has great BBQ and Pepito's is a good Mexican joint.

Hotels, not so sure of. They have a few big chains like Hampton Inn if that's what you're up for.

Tidefans aren't too welcoming to other fan bases. If you're not 100% bama they're not OK with you. Idk why they're like that.

You post this and you're calling me butthurt? Thanks for handing me this nugget. Now I won't have to search your 5 previous posts to find something delusional.

Smart will not follow his mentor Grant to Bama since they just fired him

It's not like Grant had one bad season and they canned him. He was given plenty of time to have success and couldn't get it done. I doubt Smart would hold that against Bama. Yes Grant was fired, but will leave having been paid nearly 15 million dollars over those 6 years. Friends or not that will lure plenty of coaches willing to risk getting fired years later.

Yeah. I remember when we were at our most delusional. We actually thought Nick Saban was going to leave the Miami Dolphins and coach at Bama.

Based on how much more popular football is than basketball to SEC fans as a whole, the defensive coordinators in this league are just as visible and known as the head basketball coaches.

pretty sure everyone knew Saban was going to Alabama as soon as the rumor started circulating

Bama football HC job is more appealing than basketball HC job

This is true.. But Nick Saban =/= Brad Stevens, Shaka Smart, and others mentioned in the OP.

Maybe in Tuscaloosa. Nowhere else though.

So Bammer basketball only needs 427 national championships and a coach unhappy with his current situation and possibly facing getting fired from his current job in a couple of years to duplicate the Saban situation

To be fair, this was the same logic used by people convinced that Saban was going to take the Browns job, then Texas, then the Falcons.

He's just saying what everyone outside of Louisiana is thinking but doesn't want to say out loud.

No one doubts that most Tide fans share the same ideas that Updyke has. It isn't like you guys make it a big secret. The best is all of the threads Bama fans started saying they were glad that the trees at Toomer's died because it was "funny." Typical Updyke Nation, an army of idiots with 25 well-adjusted standing in front of them talking about the class and sophistication of the "real fans." Never change, Updyke Nation.
