Done with the shitty season threads. It's over. So my 5 positive things to look forward to going into next year.

1. Clark - Thought the kid displayed some heart. The raw emotion after missing the 2 FT's. The hustle play that ended his season. He's not the most talented, but talented enough that with that heart, that I think he'll actually be just fine next year.

2. Years worth of coaching experience for KA. There is a difference between D2 and D1, much less high major D1. Any D2 coach would need the experience to adjust. I do think KA is smart enough that I think he learned from his mistakes.

3. The statement year is over. I am convinced that KA sacrificed this year to make a statement. Kind of like boot camp. Tear them down to rebuild them in the shape you want them. I suspect that if this were year 3, half of the suspensions or more that were handed down would not have been handed down for the same conduct.

4. Maturity of all players. Pretty self explanatory.

5. Schedule. I would bet our OOC schedule will not be as difficult as this past year. Getting confidence early next year will be important for this group.

It looks pretty tough right now.

All the rest, I agree.

Solid list. I will be interested to see if it all works out.

I know right now they have NC State Arizona, Illinois, & 2 quality high major programs in KC. Probably a big12 team as well.

There's not a schedule out. But I think it includes an away game at Xavier and home versus NC State and of course Illinois. I'll see who else we have.

I found the announcement about Arizona. We go to Arizona this next season.

Are we in any tournaments next year like Maui?

It was.

And it does appear the Okie Lite was a 1 year deal. Best I can tell anyways.

@Arizona
@Xavier
NC State
Illinois

versus

Arizona
Purdue
@OU
Xavier
Illinois
OSU

Yeah, the OOC is going to be about the same. Sub NC State for Okie Lite, substitute a team from the Big 12 in the challenge for OU and then if we're in any tournament with quality opponents, it does look to be just as difficult.

I predict Gant will have a better season than J3.

They're in a tournament with Kansas St, North Carolina, and Northwestern.

1. The weight training program. J3, Gant can get some valuable time in the weight room and muscle up. No more getting pushed around the paint.

2. Senior Leadership. For the 1st time in 3 years, we will have a senior who has been with the program for all 4 years. Rosburg has seen the NCAA tourney, NIT, and the worst season of all time. Can really help mold the team back to 4 year players rather than transfers.

3. Offseason period. Wes can get healthy. Teki can get rid of his hesitation attacking the rim. We can institute the offense apparently. Time together is always good.

4. Freshman. Terrence Phillips will almost undoubtedly be a Day 1 contributor. Love his style. If Van Leer can shoot as well as what we hear, he can be a great 3pt threat (a la Matt Lawrence). Puryear can provide some spark, he can throw down some monster dunks.

5. Fulford. Assuming we can keep him. He will likely be our door bell to some of the best recruits.

Gant could be realllly good. I think he is just missing the killer-instinct needed. If we can get that kid seeing red, it could be scary.

I agree about the team attacking the rim. Teki needs to be able to get to the bucket. I also noticed when Isabell was running the point it seemed like he was so hesitant that by the time we got into our set the shot clock was usually at 10. Or he would force it and try and get a shot up right away. Needs to be a middle ground and force the other team to move the feet a bit. Clark could create a bit, but that's not really his game. At least he adapted though and realized someone needed to get in the lane. Hopefully Phillips can get in the lane a bit. I think Wes plays 35 min. a game next year though.
