They look at who you beat much more than who you lost to. In football so many people want to focus on the losses or the oh so ambiguous "eye test" all while forgetting that what matters is what you did to earn your way in. Take notes, football.

When asked about why UCLA was in...the committee chair said "eye test"

Spoken like a true swamp kitten. What's LSU's biggest accomplishment over the last 3 years? Beating Manziel?

Why are the hell are you comparing 3 years? Why not 4?

I disagree. There are less games in football with equal time in between each game to prepare for the next game, unlike in basketball. This makes it easier to be consistent. Losses mean more in football and thus are judged more harshly. It makes sense.

Apples and oranges, dude. Football is 12 games. I can tell Okie St. is on your mind, though.

I think Indiana and UCLA are probably a little better than Colorado St or Boise St but they are in the tourney more on the "eye test" than anything else.

I do agree that the logic of being, say, 3-6 against top 50 type teams is better than being 0-0 against them.

However, I would support any effort to help mid-majors get a few more solid OOC opponents.

LSU is a solid basketball team but I honestly thought that Auburn loss would put you guys out. I would have been livid if y'all got in and we got snubbed.

Livid because you think UGA deserved to be in before LSU or livid because of the way you lost the game against LSU?

Further proof of ignorance. God forbid football allows 60 losers into a championship tournament.

Lol. I'd say beating SEC champs Auburn was bigger than beating also rans, but please continue to think the Aggies are important if it lets you sleep good at night.

The former.

UGA:

RPI: 38
SOS: 39
Away Record: 8-4

LSU:

RPI: 57
SOS: 86
Away Record: 8-3

LSU did beat UGA head to head and is a good team in my opinion. However, no way they should have gotten in over UGA by looking at the resumes. Not to mention that LSU lost to a bad team in their last game and has no momentum going into the dance. Just my two cents but hey I am glad both teams got in.
