Why would Marshall be crazy to come to Alabama? Alabama and Texas are "football schools" first; however, I hate that moniker because Alabama is now dedicated to excellence in all sports. What's the difference between Texas and Alabama? Recruiting Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio? The great thing about basketball is that the game is international, so there are six continents to recruit for talent, Antartica excluded, unless he wants penguins and then we'll need a mackerel budget then. Alabama's Athletic Department can compete with Texas and give Marshall all the tools he needs to be successful. So let's be positive, and channel our inner-Gumpness that we land Coach G. "Money" Marshall from that old Midwestern town of Wichita :-).

It's been a long haul that we've been through over the years.
I've never wavered and I've watched 99% of all of our games for the last 15+ years. The 2004 run was the most exciting moment for me as a fan and I feel like hiring Marshall would be borderline the same feeling.

This is just gonna hurt more if we don't end up getting Marshall after this visit.

Well if it doesn't happen, we go back to square one and do this again. Four million a year would entice a great amount of coaches to come to Alabama. Heck three million would too. It's just we have to be positive, hope springs eternal y'all.

It would be a punch to the gut. But what was tail is the best tail? The dime piece you put work in to land and got, or the fatty sitting at the bar who would give a handy for a fireball shot?

If the details have been worked out, as has been implied, I cant see Battle flying out there for anything other than to escort him back to Bama. Nothing else would even make sense....but anything can happen

Somebody needs to ask Lucky if he knows if Darron Boatright may be coming with Marshall. He is an associate AD at Wichita, but before that he was director of basketball operations under Gottfried. He's really good.
