LSU and Ole Miss last 4 in.

Xavier(20-12 9-9) blowing out #23 Georgetown is not good

UCONN (19-13 10-8) beats Cincinnati (22-10 13-5) on a buzzer beater 3, probably not good either UCONN playing their way in and into the AAC semifinals and Cinci is an at large lock

Wyoming (24-9 11-7) takes down #25 and #1 seed Boise State 71-66 F.

Arizona holds off UCLA 70-64, UCLA is probably out

Boise needs to win that at large

What? Wyoming still needs to beat SDSU/Colorado St to take a bubble spot.

Wyoming takes down #25 and #1 seed Boise State and they improve to 24-9 now and are in the finals tomorrow. Boise State now gets an at large instead of an auto.

Yes and no, they just helped UCONN big time and UCONN was outside looking in now they're back in the discussion. Helps OM's resume but hurts LSU.

How is this possible? LSU beat Ole Miss twice. Whatever helps Ole Miss helps LSU.

Because Ole Miss beat them on a neutral court and they're an at large lock?

Oregon game is huge for us too. Then again we don't even deserve to go so I'm not gonna dwell on it. If our name is called Sunday then I'll take it.

What am I missing? LSU's RPI is 47. 13-5 vs the T100. Ole Miss' RPI is 53. 9-9 vs the T100. LSU beat Ole Miss twice. If something helps Ole Miss' resume, it helps LSU's chances because LSU is in before Ole Miss.

Only a little, Oregon and Utah are both locks, Oregon winning would be a minor boost for the RPI/SOS but nothing major since they're already in either way.

This won't be popular (hear me out all the way through tho) but outside of Arky, I think the west is good/solid but most listed as possibilities are not quite tourney ready (I prolly have way too high standards tho). I DO think LSU can beat or lose to damn near anyone and that OM is solid. What's frustrating about LSU is they've got all the talent in the world but manage to pull a Dooley too often. Hell, I think the entire league is far more solid than we're given credit for and head to head deserves bids more than more than a few other schools but that's not how it works. The East has it's own issues, imo, but doesn't appear to have gotten the same kind of tourney style bump which is the only reason I'm leaving them alone for now.

The great thing is that damn near any team in SEC MBB can whip any other on any given game day. We have a damn solid league and maybe that's what is being rewarded. And if so, it's past due, given the shaft the conference has gotten for ages on bids.

Overall, I'm very happy to see where we are now and think the conference will only grow stronger. I will also be SEC all the way.

PS - NONE of this has to do with liking or disliking teams. Those of you who know me prolly know that but it's worth stating for those who don't know me.

One other thing, I could lay similar gripes down about other conferences. Only this year, I think we're a damn strong conference top to bottom.

If I had to guess, the national perception of the SEC will have the committee pick between OM and LSU, one or the other, depending on what happens in the conference championship games.

Probably but depending on the conference both LSU and OM are better (they could also be worse but I bet our selection/bids come closer to more human conferences). We're paying for having a bad rep basketball wise outside a handful of schools.

BUT even if it's a mistake, for once we deserve the benefit of the doubt which is something we never get in roundball.

LSUs RPI is now 55

LSU has two losses to 200+ RPI teams

LSU now has 3 losses to RPI 130-200 teams

LSU has a total of 5 130+ RPI losses
