With Faciane and Freitag no longer on the roster and Greene back working with the OL, TFS is 2nd on the TE depth chart by default. Unless you count recently converted DL Dakota Ball and a couple walk-ons

True, but still I like his potential as a solid contributor. Wish we would've redshirted him last year.

Wow Robert Foster beat Tony Brown in a race. That's crazy. Man we will be dangerous next year with the playmakers. We already know Aradrius is a weapon.

Yeah I think Foster can be special for us this year. We've seen glimpses of what he can do. He looks ultra fast and smooth on the new practice videos. If he gets on the same page as the coaches, he could be a great player.

Remember last year? CRob was "struggling" and working 2nd/3rd team after the first couple practices...

AllBamaDoesIsWin SDH seems like one of the guys who just gets it. I'm sure he always has his nose in the playbook. Hopefully he turns out better than DePriest did.

He will, he's not from ohio so I'm assuming he runs better than a 4.9.

True but to me he just looks too big to be a primary RB in our offense. I miss an Ingram type back, that was smaller but quick and strong. Henry and Bo are not like that at all.

I think that Bo will be a star at RB at Alabama. All of the bad work ethic stuff might be true, might not. Either way, Saban works wonders with kids with questionable work ethics.

I have really high hopes for him, Drake, and Henry this year.

In his defense our coaches are good for putting a lot of weight on kids.

Is it just me or does Jonathan Taylor look really quick/agile for his size?

With Coker's windup delivery, I'm going to miss the "quick-hitters" to Cooper's replacement. Blake Sims = quick release
Jacob Coker = not a quick release

Practice Report

quote:

The sun was out and Alabama took another step in the spring practice routine. Full pads came out for the first time as the Crimson Tide held its third of 15 spring practices. A large number of former stars were on the sideline to watch. What we saw

-- Just like Monday's practice, Kenyan Drake worked with the receivers in the second of the two periods open to reporters. He was at the end of the line catching passes from the group of quarterbacks.

-- Neither Tyren Jones (suspension) nor Grant Hill (medical) were spotted for the third time.

-- The secondary was mixing and matching but it looks like cornerback Marlon Humphrey was with the second team along with Bradley Sylve.

-- JUCO transfer Jonathan Taylor has been working at the back of the line with the defensive line. Positional coach Bo Davis took some extra time with him Wednesday to make sure he got a drill right.

-- Speaking of coaches, new outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi is one of the more intense coaches you'll see out there. He gets right in there on drills and pulls no punches with the critique.

-- Defensive lineman Johnny Dwight has been working with the tight ends all three practices. That's not uncommon considering Dakota Ball moved from the defensive line to tight end. Brandon Greene also came to the group after playing offensive tackle. At 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, Dwight is a load catching passes across the middle as they practiced Wednesday.

-- A large group of former Alabama players watched from the sideline. The group included recent players Amari Cooper, Jalston Fowler, Arie Kouandjio and Nick Perry along with a few from the past like Josh Chapman and Marquis Maze.

-- Graduate assistant Alex Mortensen, former Samford quarterback and son of ESPN's Chris Mortensen, throws a nice ball working with reserve receivers. What comes next Nick Saban and a few players will meet with reporters after practice. They'll return to the field Friday afternoon for Practice 4.

Dre Kirkpatrick, Ro, and Fluker are also in town working out

I think Blake exceeded everyone's expectations. That much can be said.

But he struggled mightily in that Ohio State game to connect with wide open WRs and tried to force the ball way too much. I'm hoping eventhough Coker has a slower release, he can do a better job of being accurate when we need him.

i doubt it. Coker's biggest issue last season was accuracy. I think Sims was more accurate than AJ

More of a timing issue than anything. He's had another year and the WRs he's playing with are guys he had reps with last year.

No.

Sims completed 64.5% of his passes. The only year AJ did worse than that? 2010, when he backed up GMAC.

No offense, but did you even watch last year?

You don't think he struggled mightily despite throwing the first pick 6 since JPW in 07, and missing WRs by a considerable margin throughout the game.

Sims had some good games last season, sure. Ohio St was definitely not one of them.
