Vols: What's Happening with Serrano?

Watched the last two innings of the game with Morehead St tonight (dropped it 11-8) and now are sitting at 7-6. Losing out on so many games early because of bad weather really hurts but thought this would be the year Serrano started to get it going?
Personally thought you would be a regional team this year but not playing well early at all.

Terrible brand of baseball imo. What little I've watched and they give away about an out an inning with bunts. No chance of big innings.
I tried to watch tonight and we sac bunted a runner to 2nd in the first inning. That was all I could take for the evening.

Good question. I agree with you and thought this team would be a regional team, but it sure doesn't look that way. They've had some shitty losses early.
I thought the starters might be the problem, but it seems like the bats are to blame thus far. I admit that I haven't watched any yet and have barely listened to a couple of games.
I personally disagree strongly with volfan, I like small ball and know that it is a brand of baseball that works. Hopefully our guys get it going soon.

Very disappointing so far. They play 13 of 16 games away in the next few weeks.

Serrano isn't a very good coach. Fullerton fans weren't sad to see him go.

This and we run ourselves out of innings on a consistent basis.

Didn't realize schedule was getting that rough that quick. Losing that 4 game set with Rutgers may be big late in the season if things get turned around.

Yeah, I think they has to pick up some games midweek that are all away on top of the away conference game stretch. Looks like this season is done unless they get it together and go on a winning streak.

They're just not very good. That's basically the feeling I get when watching them.

This was supposed to be the year that they took that next big step forward, gearing up with tons of upperclassmen. Preseason ranked top 25 but they just haven't looked the part yet with glaring holes in the lineup and the bullpen. Obviously the amount of cancelled/postponed OOC games has hurt and the SEC schedule isn't going to do them any favors. If they can't make a regional this year, who knows when they will because they'll likely take a step back next year.

I'm not a fan of giving up an out every inning to bunt a guy over. Just shows that we have no confidence in our hitters
