Awful decision

Exactly. Awful decision. Nothing to be gained by this. Nothing. We are in the SEC and should act like it. Scheduling moves like this bring us nothing. It's not good for SOS, or for recruiting, or anything else. It's just a favor to a former coach.

If there was something in it for us, I'd have no problem. But I see nothing positive for Mizzou in this.

Just about every power 5 school schedules 1 FCS school a year.

GP has done this a couple times, in scheduling a game against his former assistants.

It also keeps that guarantees payment to another instate school. SEMO also announced a game against Mizzou, believe in 2019.

I realize every school schedules an FCS team. And I agree, it's good to help out other in-state schools. But I would prefer to see us schedule teams that help with recruiting. JMO.

I don't see this as any worse than playing SEMO this year.

2016 still has two TBA games. I expect more of the same.

We also travel to Arkansas State (2015) and Wyoming (2019). Those are the real head-scratchers. (yes, I know Dave Christiansen(sp?) was the Wyoming coach)

Some of these you mentioned were schedule-fillers when we moved to the SEC and had to revise several years worth of schedules and fill in where we could. Hats understandable. I was hoping to see these OOC games become recruiting tools at the very least.

The best recruiting tool is wins. I would continue to expect us to fill the noncon with winnable games. This should be a W. Also could be the intro to Lock as the starting QB.

No FCS school is going to help with recruiting.

Does it really matter if we play Southeast LA or Mo St? Who cares?

Since we're going to have to beat up on an FCS team, this is the best one. Since they have fans that might come, this might actually make for a fun game in Como. STeck will be a great coach there but he will need 10 games to maybe beat us in a bad year. We won't lose recruits to a division 2 school. We are SEC.

Now, if we could make the other non con games have some challenge that the playoff committee would respect, now that would be something.

Series with BYU and West Virginia are quality OOC games.

I don't think Purdue and UConn quailify, but they are Div1 (then again...Indiana beat us, so you never know)

I'm really interested in the 2 TBA games for 2016. It is possible that the new AD will greatly influence the completion of the 2016 schedule.

The FCS games should be against schools that are in markets where we want to expand our recruiting. At least get some added exposure.

Why? They are all home games?
