I just moved down here for work. Does anyone have advice on bars, restaurants, places to run with dogs, etc.? I know obvious places like Sloppy Joe's, Rick's, Fogarty's, Smathers Beach, etc.

Blue Heaven has a nice, but touristy breakfast. A&B lobster house has well if you can't guess... Louie's Backyard is the best restaurant on the island from my experience.

Latitudes on Sunset Key is a romantic place where you can have a 5 star meal on the beach and Kermit's does not have the best key lime pie. I'll let you find it yourself.

Also, avoid the cruise ship side of the island when one is in port. Cruise ship people suck.

Are you actually living on Key West or one of the other Keys?

I mean, everywhere is casual. There's not really a dress code, but if you mean price wise, I'm not terribly sure. Hogfish is great and not pricey, but it's on Stock Island.

As far as Southern, not a clue. I'll ask though, I've got friends that live there.

Find this chicken, he'll guide you around.

My coonhound almost killed one of these roosters yesterday. Other than my landlord and boss, I don't know a soul down here. I've been contemplating whether or not to roll solo to a bar or not

Dude, that wouldn't be an issue. You can take your dog to half of them. Just go sit down at a bar and make friends. Everyone is chill and friendly and not that fake nice to tourists shite either.

It's one of my favorite places on the planet.

My parents take their dogs to the wine bar, Vinos, all the time.

I like the Gecko and Smoking Tuna a lot personally just to sit and have a beer, but you can't go wrong at any of em.

Most of the places down there are casual. As far as seafood, you will soon learn that if you are from Louisiana, it does not compare. However, you can get some good grilled fish that is not usually available in Louisiana restaurants. Go over to Hogfish Grill on Stock Island and get the Hogfish sandwich. To quote there menu, "it's killer."

Publix #2 is the best bet... Don't date the locals or the Russian hotel workers especially the bitch down at the White Tarpon...

Conch train drivers will run you down and remember to lock up your shite on holidays when the Miami trash come a calling.

keysso.net is your friend...

Do those two Brazilians still sell key lime pie in that hit off ducal st? That might have been the best dessert I've ever had. OP, you gotta go if it's still there.

Publix is amazing, I hated not having it in Mississippi. Some Publix fried chicken and mac and cheese was actually my first meal down here yesterday.

Luckily don't have to worry about the dating scene, got a girlfriend up in North Palm Beach.

Yeah it's amazing down here. I went on a run a little before sunset through the midtown and Old Town neighborhoods and remembered why I moved here.

I'm here for the foreseeable future. I got offered around 60-70 percent more money than my last job to come here and I'm only doing about half the work that I was.
