Both were stopgaps due to poor recruiting.

We can't all be lucky enough to sign Kiehl Frazier, the white crybaby, Jonathan somebody, the kid that was on campus for a couple days, etc. Bateman, Cornwell, Barnett were all blue chip stud recruits. Laney boy will have somebody ready.

Again, what is the criteria for being a great QB? Was A.J. McCarron a "great" QB?

If Coker wins the job, will Saban announce who the backup will be ? Or will he avoid it to keep the 4 around all summer.

Per Saban's usual procedure he will provide a detailed 3 deep at every position following the Spring game. Please hold your breath until the announcement is made.

So two of the QBs who will never see the field in the Fall, will stick around due to their love of Saban ? I wonder what happens if it looks like the Freshman is the backup ?

Then they will leave. Or they won't. Who cares.

Doe auburn not recruit a QB every class? So you feel the need to flame Bama because bama actually plays QBs for more than one year. While I know Marshall started two years, before that Auburn was starting a new QB every year and many years more than one started. Bama hasn't really had that problem since Saban arrived. But by all means keep flaming.

I guess it'd be between Bateman and Cornwell

that seems to be the most likely scenario. if that's the case, then give me Cornwell every time.

They may, they may not -

I can't remember the last time Saban named a truefrosh backup QB, but there's a first time for everything.

Saban appreciates your interest in his hypothetical transfers, buddy. He'll let you know when he decides who to process. Never yield.

Maybe, maybe not, maybe go frick yourself.

Just kidding. I really haven't thought that much about the third string back up situation at Alabama yet, much less any other teams.

I did realize bama fans would be so sensitive about the subject. Just a simple question, yet we see so much deflection in the answers.

it's not a simple question because it's a question nobody knows the answer to; not even the receivers on the team.

do you know anything about Saban and depth charts?

Asking who is going to transfer after spring practice is not a simple question since none of us could possibly know. Saban doesn't announce depth charts in the in summer/fall practice, much less the spring.

The question was dumb but that is not the reason you are getting the reactions you are getting by the way.

Saban hasn't started a QB at Bama with less than three years in the program.

McCaron? Didn't he start as a sophomore? He was redshirted 1 year. Sat, but played his second year, then was the starter. He only had two years in the program when he started, right? Or am I missing something?

It is the same question you could ask about any team in the SEC in the same situation, and not get the paranoia response you get from the bammers.

Maybe, although I don't see much discussion about teams' third string situation going on in the winter. Regardless, you've kind of made your bed on this forum, so now you get to lie in it.

In other words you're a bona fide never to yield troll so this is the kind of response you're going to get for better or worse from the "bammers."
