When you troll your own too much you get a bad rep, especially since we are so small here (now troll the hell outta volnation

There's definitely a large portion of the fanbase that anoints anyone who is brought on as the savior of the program and have a "Wait until they fail" mentality. They really shone through with the Debord hire.
I will admit that the D****y era, and his supporters, definitely pushed me from realism to pessimism. Butch's recruiting has helped alleviate some of that.

Truth be told, I was trying to get banned. I was annoyed at Volnation, and him in particular. I called him out for his Kevin O'Neil ball washing during the Bruce Pearl era, and tried to promote what was the best Vol site at that time, Vols, Bitch.com. i'd end every post with "Vols, Bitch".
Anyway, he and BigPapaVol, and the rest of his crony pussies all started complaining to the admins relentlessly.
My permaban message was: "Length of suspension : Forever. Reason: Admins, Bitch."
Which I thought was pretty funny actually

That said, it has always driven me nuts that he 'could be better' but refuses to be better. I think that's what makes me want to smack him the most.

I post in the recruiting forum a lot on Volnation. It is pretty solid over there.

Recruiting forum is the only asset on Volnation. Even there though you have to sift through the delusion and sugar coating to get good info. 8th Maxim is the extreme opposite of Volnation. Most negative place ever. We could go 15-0 and 8th Maxim would still be pissed off about something.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy reading 8th Maxim because there are a lot of intelligent posters on there. I just don't buy the doomsday sentiment they have for all things Butch Jones. Not saying Butch is perfect. Certainly he still has to prove himself on gamedays and that judgement starts this year for real. But my God we haven't recruited like we are now since Fulmer was young and in his prime. I think we will win some big games in the SEC the next couple years just on talent alone. My God our roster is getting filthy good. Worst case is he leaves the next guy with a STACKED cupboard a la Ron Zook.

I used to post over there some but I can't even remember the last time I checked that place. Your assessment was spot on imo. The constant sunshine pumping combined with the window lickers at VN is fricking unbearable while the negativity at 8thmaxim is just depressing. Butch is obviously not perfect but you would think the guy hadn't won a game yet judging by that place.
Honestly, I don't think its a personally thing with Butch rather than they were going to be like this with anyone not named Gruden.
I like reading Tennessee boards that are a happy medium and will call a spade a spade.
