Looks to me like the Tenn. loss probably put LSU's tourney chances in the crapper, barring a doubtful upset in Fayetteville or impossible SEC tourney win.

They've dug themselves a hole all season. The Tennessee loss hurt, but if they don't lose to other bad teams like Mizzou, Auburn, and State, this loss isn't as detrimental.

Tennessee technically isn't a bad loss, but it's bad enough to pull LSUs RPI to the mid 50's

definitely puts us on the bubble again. Being 4-4 against top 50 is probably helping a good bit.

Bottomline is you've gotta beat the Hogs or NIT here we come, because you (or nobody else) is beating Kentucky this year... anywhere, anytime.

Hogs will put a end to LSU fans argument of are they going dancing or not plus save them a lot of embarrassment.

#Mercykilling.

If y'all drive them to the NIT, after their football season, It'll be damn near impossible to wade through all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that'll take place on this board!

Why does anyone think this team deserves to make the tournament?

You can make a case that LSU's tourney starts Saturday with Arkansas being their play in game. Win and they are in more then likely. Lose and they have to make the finals of the SECt to have a shot.

I want to beat them of course, but it would be a shame if LSU wound up in the NIT.

According to Linardi, if LSU does the expected and loses at Bud Walton, they would then be down to the final 8 in; in other words a play-in game.
At that point, if they lose their opening game of the SECT, they could indeed fall completely out of the Dance. So it looks likely that the Tigers will have a make or break opening game(second round) in the SECT.
