Interesting lists and thanks for the effort. I appreciate you making multiple lists to accommodate the different requests from posters. It will be interesting to see how these played out at the end of the season.

One of the things that will be interesting to see, IMO, is which of 2 interrelated categories that have polar ranking will end up governing. For example, TN is ranked 2nd in QBs but 11th in OL. Those are interdependent and which will win/lose out in the end?

Only one way to find out - play the games.

Ahem. Sorry to do this but you were reasonable and logical in a thread. I have to report you for this violation.

who did dobbs beat to be crowned the best?

Maybe you should email the guys at ESPN and ask them that. Ya know, since they ranked the positions.

Also, they have Dobbs at #2

So Tennessee fans honestly believe, here in March, that their team is going to win the SEC?

well if there's a time of the year for bold prediction this would be it

No we don't, I just had a little fun with what the model says will happen.

BUT I do think the ESPN rankings do show that TN's roster is in the best shape it has been in truly 10 years or more.

Hopefully our staff can turn that into a 9 or 10 win season.

I worry about that O-line of the Vols. If they can shore that up then they should have a very good season. If not I think their QBs are going to take an awful beating this year.

Truth. Only guy we lost was a walk on that played on a torn ACL last season after we had some injuries.

The hope is that 4* JUCO OL from the 2014 class Dontavious Blair who the coaches redshirted last year due to him being out of shape and not quite mentally ready to be a LT in the SEC can put it together and give us the true LT we desperately need.

IF that happens that will allow Sr. Kyler Kerbyson to slide to G and we'd have a great two deep there of Sr. Marcus Jackson, KK, So. Jashaun Robinson who started every game last year and RS Jr. Dylan Weisman. Sr. Mack Crowder will be back at C competing with So. Coleman Thomas who had to play RT.

Then RT will be a batte between RS So Brett Kendrick, Freshman 4* Jack Jones and Freshman 5* Drew Richmond (AKA Freeze heartbreaker).

Very interesting. The formula predicted the West winner last year rightly, but missed on the East winner quite badly. In other words, it's not really any better than any other predictor or opinion out there.

I will say this, any predictor that has LSU and UT consistently higher than Bama went wrong somewhere. I'm not saying LSU or UT couldn't upset Bama in 2015, but Bama has won a combined 12 in a row against those two schools and has out-recruited both the past 5 years. The top 3 teams in the SEC in 2015 IMO will be Bama, auburn and UGA in no certain order.

I 100% agree Tider and I don't think it is the formula that is the problem, I think the ESPN Blog site made an effort to try and not put Alabama on top in everything for once this season.

The formula can only spit out what they rank them.

If another site put out rankings (which I think SDS does) then it would really change things.

I think the Vols are this close to making it work. I hope they don't... well not until after we play them. But if they can get their line straight... they have enough talent to really scare people.

If there were not so many teams with solid D-lines that they play this year I would put them right up their in the mix for the SEC East and a shot at the Final Four.
