Only going because Shamburger deserves a standing ovation for "trooper of the century." I'll also clap for Post.

Good man. They deserve it. Not their fault. Even Post, it's not his fault if he was recruited beyond his means. I think the kid tries and haven't heard of him getting into trouble. I may tune in for the first 5 minutes.

Tonight is Missouri's last home game. Avg. attendance @ Mizzou Arena this year is 7,070 - lowest avg home attendance for MU since 1978-79

Missouri is one of seven high major conference teams under 50 % capacity for home games this year.

Didn't feel like making a whole new thread for it and since attendance was mentioned I figured here was as good as any.

I actually thought Post showed some signs this year of improvement(some of his fouls though can make you lose it). I kind of wish KA had a chance with him earlier. I know we all go back and forth about the hire, but one area that I think could be a strength is developing bigs. Cheers to Shamburger, prob not what he envisioned this year coming in.

A lot of Posts moving screens are the fault of our guards. They start the move before the bigs get there to set the pick.

Are these the absolutely 2 worst basketball teams you have ever seen? God, me and my son just haven't stopped laughing throughout the game. Free throw air ball. Miss from 6 inches. Dribble off your foot. Nothing but backboard from 3. The only thing worse than the two teams on the floor are the guys calling the game. Actually, they probably just have absolutely no interest in even being there. Hard to blame them. Hell, even the Auburn grad Barkley had sense enough to be at the UK/UGA game.

Post had about a week or so in January where you thought he finally got it. Then he went back to get in foul trouble in the first 2 minutes.

And leaving too much space between them and Post which leaves space for the defender. The screener then has to lean to get a piece of the defender causing a foul. All the bigs do that from what I've seen.

Looked like one team tried to come out and be physical from the tip off, then got pushed around. I would be talking about Auburn. I was feeling bad for J3. Kid was getting pushed, hit, grabbed and hooked and basically ran over in the lane and no calls. Gloves came off at that point I think. Post made Bowers his bitch. Like that strong rebound by Rosburg too, shame he couldn't finish it right on top of Bowers head.

I seen something different in this game. It was a team effort. It wasn't totally one guy. Sham started it off being the hot shooter, but his team joined in instead of being observers. I haven't seen scoring break downs, but it seemed like they all contributed this time out. Pick and roll still sucked arse. Wins a win.

I felt pretty good about the refs in person. Play was rough, but they were no calling on both ends. Only one foul I can remember that was a bad call.

The game didn't take 3+ hours...which was nice. I've always been a proponent for letting them play.

I didn't make it to last night's game (couldn't find a sitter for an 8:00 game) but I made it to all but about three or four of the games and I at least think I found someone to take all of them. Season tickets were sold out in my section and there was literally one game all season where someone was sitting to the side or in front of me. Most of the time we were the only folks in our entire row (in the lower level mind you).

In any event, I hate how bad this team was for most of the year, but I thought they at least played hard. Last night when i chucked the remote in frustration after they went down 8 they went on a 10-0 run to close out the game, so you know they at least fought until the end. Hoping for some big strides over the summer. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I think they are a lot better and push for an NIT bid at least (assuming they don't all transfer that is).

I'm happy for the kids that they got the win. Sometimes, it just doesn't matter how bad you play if you can just get the W. I still feel that that game featured two of the worst basketball teams I've seen on the major D1 level. Not even upset about it. Like I said before, me and my son were literally laughing the entire first half at the ineptitude on the court. Each time we thought they couldn't do something else embarrassing, they did. And I'm talking about both teams.

I remember one sequence where in the span of a few possessions, Auburn shot an air ball from the stripe. Rosburg missed from 6 inches away. Auburn air balled a 3. Mizzou dribbled the ball off of our own foot when there was no pressure. Maybe it was lack of sleep for both of us, but we just couldn't stop laughing.

Anyways, a win is a win and maybe that's the one positive they can take from the season if they can beat MSU to close out the regular season with 2 wins. At this point, I'll take it.

Do you think D1 is only the P5 conferences or something? Your continual labeling of Mizzou and Auburn as some of the worst teams in the country has me thinking you might not be aware what D1 actually means.

You may not have seen our rankings. There's no question we're in the bottom 5 teams in P5. There's a compelling statistical case that it's actually worse than that.

Also, reedus said "major D1 level," which is perfectly rational. Unfortunately.

It is Mizzou's year to wander in the desert. I think, and hope, y'all upgrade next year. Missouri basketball will be back soon enough, I look forward to some great games down the road.

No. I understand it includes UMKC as well. It was still some of the worst basketball I've seen at the D1 level.

ETA - I'll go a step further and say that I saw 2 teams doing stuff last night that not even my son's CYC team did back when he was 10.

Oh it will get better. Things never stay the same. And I ain't even mad. Like I said, it's more comical than anything. Some day they will be good again. I'm sure they'll even be better under KA than they were this year.
