I don't know that anything changes. Our backup has a cannon for an arm, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Fitzgerald pass him during the season or before the next season starts. I like Damian, but Fitz and Staley have the size that Mullen likes at QB.

Whatever the case, I think we are better situated at QB than I have ever seen.

For sure. We can probably say that about our WR situation, too.

I've never understood why no one ever gives Eli Staley a shot. He's more physically gifted than Fitz and PJ has even said he thinks he a little ahead even after Fitz got a head start on him. Not to mention that Staley doesn't even turn 19 until the end of the summer. The amount of physical talent that guy has is off the charts. At the end of the day, I don't care who it is as long as they win games.

My gut says Damien, but I hope one of the other guys plays well enough to push him for the job.

Possibly because no one knows much about him other than the fact that he is really tall. Everyone has seen Damian. Many people have seen Fitz in last year's spring game. I hope Staley is the best QB we have ever had. I hope he is the best QB that has ever played a down of football.

I just don't see Damien Williams as the future for us. He's the only other QB I've seen any of, so I don't know about the other guys.

Me either. Whether we realize it or not though, with Dak's 2013 injuries and a few blowout games last year he's racking up a lot of snaps already.

I'm ok with him being the QB when we're up >21 points for a full fourth Qtr.

Crazy to think Damian Williams in the form Mullen has him in right now might have been one of Croom's better QBs..

It's just hard to imagine how far Dan has brought MSU as a program sometimes. I was in school during that BS.

Dan Mullen had Tyson Lee looking competent at times.

That alone should let you know he is pretty good at QB development.

Agreed. I think he's a solid backup and stepped up nicely (well, nice enough) when Dak and Tyler went down a couple years ago. But he's just never going to be a starting QB.

exactly, never mind the fact that State actually had a QB in a mid-season Heisman race. Think about that for a minute. :mindblown:
