#4 in the country

As we head into spring practice, we break down our annual list of Top 10 programs in college football with the understanding that it’s more than just bricks and mortar and recruiting bases.

1 Ohio State
2 Texas
3 USC
4 LSU
5 Florida
6 Michigan
7 Alabama
8 FSU
9 Oregon
10 Notre Dame

Yeah, for a program that is known for investing an absurd amount of money into its facilities, it's pretty ironic it's ranked based on "more than just brick and mortar facilities"

maybe it's just the brand itself given LSU's reputation for NFL athletes and Oregon for its spread offense. I guess the Texas brand is still huge, but we all know they'll squander it

The criteria is all over the place.

If it's historical success, Alabama and Notre Dame are 1 and 2.
If it's current success, Texas, USC, and Florida are WAY too high.
The only way to rank LSU above Florida is to either limit it to more recent years, in which case Michigan is laughable at 6, or count all of football history, in which case Bama at 7 and ND at 10 is way too low.
But if it's mainly wins, why is Michigan only 6th?

I can see some justification for many of these teams where they are, but I can't find ANY consistent justification for this list. It's garbage.

I can't disagree with any of this. Very strange list to say the least.

I would be honored to be ranked around Texas, Florida, and Michigan right now. They are such quality programs that compete for championships every year. Congrats guys!
