Charles Mann happened.

Truth. That classic horrible, unexplainable Mann turnover, coupled with Gaines' stupid foul on the other end sealed the deal.

This so much...What was that? a 6-7 point swing? gotdamn....

It was technically a 6 point swing, but in slow motion you can see the guy hacked his arm.

Either way, can't blame him. We were in it because of our driving to the basket.....

If anything is to blame....aaaagain, it's our FT shooting. Called it in the prediction. Thread. You miss 3 front ends and both of double bonus in the last few minutes of a game, you're gonna lose

Eh, good effort tonight. I was hoping we could pull this one out. Agreed on free throws...it just amazes me that people on basketball scholarships can't make over half their free throws.

Beat Auburn and secure a spot in the dance

It was great showing 3/4s of the way and we limped to the finish line. I wasn't expecting a win by any stretch, but I'm disappointed with the way we lost. Would have at least liked to see a heartbreaker for the effort the team and fans were giving most of the way. If only we could actually amp up Stegeman that way every game

Couldn't agree more. I went into that game being fine with either result but to see Georgia just completely choke it away put me in a shite mood. I had no intention of being pissed we lost but that's exactly what happened.

It was a normal game, though, in that I saw UGA up and kept thinking "what will prompt the final collapse" and sure enough they delivered. That happens with about every team I watch though

The Steg looked good on TV if only we could do that for every home game. At least conference games would be nice.

Which is probably why I was disappointed. This isn't just a fight to win over recruits, but to win over our own students. If we win that game or even lose it by a heartbreaker, it leaves an impression to those in attendance that this program and these games are still a lot of fun. And yet we just did more of the same UGA shite. Jj hitting that garbage three to go up 7 to me was like watching ogletree run back the blocked kick against Bama. I wanted so bad to believe we were really going to pull it off but I knew the other team was going to land a shot in our teeth and we would just fold. We were never going to beat UK because we don't mentally know how to beat a team like that. It's like we can't comprehend that kind of success and so we go full on narcoleptic once were ahead and the finish line is in sight

The coliseum itself still kind of looks embarrassing, at least IMO, but the crowd was great as was the blackout. Worked out well cause Big Blue nation blended in with the black.

I got a good laugh at hearing All the Way Turnt Up again

at the same time. JJ's shot off the top of the backboard was the tipped pass to Conley

I hate how true that is.

This. But at least we were made competitive in spite of choking at the end.

The way you beat teams like UK is giving yourself enough opportunities to win those games. I actually think this is very encouraging going forward and it will help those guys learn how to beat good teams. I think it will help us tremendously in the conference and NCAA tournaments as long as we take the correct attitude from this game. We were IN the game with UK, without making threes or free throws. That is a step in the right direction.

Problem is these guys are learning the lesson (hopefully) in the next to last game of the regular season. Maybe it serves them well in the tournaments, but we lose Thornton and Nemi this year and lack size other than Maten.

One person can't win or lose a game for you, but Charles Mann did his damn well best to cost us this game.

Before parts of the second half, Gaines wasn't doing much for us either. It's honestly shocking to me that we were on top by as much as were as late into the game as we were considering JJ could barely get open, Gaines was playing like crap, Mann was doing Mann things, and Thornton was just doing his usual thing. Speaks to how well the team played D and how much we're going to miss Nemi. Dude cemented his legacy alongside Yada and KCP as one of my favorites to watch, last night.

On another note, I saw a mock bracket recently (forget where, one of Lunardi's maybe?) that had UGA playing Dayton in the first round as an 8/9 matchup. I really hope this does not happen.
