Wx sucked in ATL today. Had meetings down by the airport at our office all day with a customer. Took me 2 hours to get home (38 miles) in ATL traffic because of the fog and general dumbassery that takes place in Atlanta on the highways.

I hear you man. When I moved to the Branch and actually had a job, I was driving from here to Duluth. Just that little drive sucked.

Been guiding for 15 years now and I have to be honest, I fricking hate the cold weather now. My old arse just hates it more and more.

My wife and I will more than likely be retiring in about 7 years. We have been on a plan since we started working of retiring at 55. We are close. We are looking for a retirement place in St Croix. Will more than likely buy something there early and enjoy it before we move there

I am done with this cold weather. The tackle company gets me out of the cold for a lot of the winter but days like today hurt my old arse.

Look at the name on the jerkbait picture. Use your years of internet experience.

God bless. Hope yall can do it.

Coldest I have ever been in my freakin life was fishing on the gulf of Mexico for speckled trout in November 2 years ago. Solid 14 knot wind and temps in the low 40's. nowhere to hide and it just cut through you.

I had bundles of warm clothes and it just did not matter. Took me literally 5 hours once I got back from my teeth to stop chattering and that was after a HOT shower and more than one drink of bourbon.

You can literally freeze your arse off on the water.

Good luck with the tackle sales. its warmer. Lemme know when you get to the point where you want to have that shite made in China and not in your basement.

I've been skiing a lot of really cold places, but being on Lake Champlain (VT/NY) in February was the absolute worst.

I do no real manufacturing in my basement. I do some painting and a little but most is done at my supplier..

I will not go to China.. Too risky. Too many nightmares with them. I will expand this year but it will be in Merica...

God bless you!

I'm sure the employees who work at that plant appreciate it.

I've seen a few documentaries and done some extensive research on manufacturing in China.

I honestly can't believe they let any of that shite in the U.S.

And I'm not even talking about their labor practices...

I've been in a lot of chinese manufacturing plants. Everything from cellphone and laptop plants that employ 30000 workers on one site, to furniture factories in south china where the apartment block is next to the factory and its a closed loop system.

They are very good at a lot of things. the more high tech the better. I think on lower tech items (and baits would be one.) you could risk poorer quality control and materials unless you went there and inspected and knew what you were looking for. Mexico could be a better option.

Im in global supply chain. I move shite. In any case, I know my way around everything from moving parcels to charter 747's. I can help with that part anyway once Lanier builds his bait empire and finally agrees to sell to Walmart!

Ice fishing on Saturday - bout 16 degrees or so. It was sunny so we were actually pretty warm with the sun reflecting off the 2 feet of snow that covered the 16 inches of ice. Pulled this guy out and a handful of perch. The perch stayed on the ice and the pike went back to his ice water bath.
