I want to see us stop the run on plays when it is obvious they are going to run the ball.

In general, I just want us to look like we know what the hell we're doing.

The #1 thing I'm hoping to see in our defense this year: players not looking at the sideline when the ball is snapped.

Absolutely. How many times last season did we see guys looking at one another trying to figure out where to lineup or what the play was only to have the ball snapped.

I realize that alot of defense has to do with fulfilling your assignment, but in any sport anticipation plays such a crucial role. For a long time now, our D has looked like they can't anticipate anything.

This.

Tackling.

Tackling, tackling, tackling. If we can just do what almost everyone else does: our first guy to the ball carrier touches him, AT LEAST slows him down, and usually stops him, then we'll be 200% better this year than last.

I will admit I am immune to poor tackeling, the only thing left on defense that hurts me while watching is giving up a big play. And all that put together doesn't equal how much all those dropped passes last year hurt.

Tackling will definitely help. I'd rather give up 1 or 2 big plays a game than watch a team methodically work their way down the field.

I was just coming here to say how disappointed I was in the lack of information coming out of spring practices being posted here.

Very quick day out at practice ... about 20 minutes and mostly special teams. But we did get to see our first six live plays of the spring. Here are a few quick thoughts on the media portion of practice #11... * Among the notable names in attendance today ... Ben Malena (a daily patron ... and brought his high-energy dance moves today), Deshazor Everett, Kayce Smith and fellow SEC Network analyst Greg McElroy. Greg is becoming a huge fan of A&M and by all accounts thinks a lot of the program that Kevin Sumlin is running. * Terry Price is rocking the goatee these days. This is a new development. And an important one, at that. * We saw mostly special teams and I found it interesting that Christian Kirk was getting a majority of the reps as the lead kick returner. Quiv Gonzalez, Brandon Williams and Nick Harvey were also back there. * Myles Garrett still has his thumb taped. The pin is out of it but I assume it's taped up for precautionary purposes. It doesn't appear to be slowing him down at all, however, as he is going full speed like normal out there. * As I mentioned, we got to see six plays ... 1s vs. 1s and 2s vs. 2s. The defense played well in this short period. In the first series, with Kyle Allen on the field, the defense got off the field with a three-and-out. Here were the plays... - Brandon Williams run up the middle for five yards. - Brandon Williams run off right tackle for no gain. - Incomplete pass on a slant ... intended for Ricky Seals-Jones ... Noel Ellis with a nice PBU. In the second series, with Conner McQueen at QB, he made a nice play to set up a field goal. Here are the two plays... - Conner McQueen keeper on zone read off ... loss of five. - Pass left side to Sabian Holmes for about 15 yards. * The period ended with an impressive 50-yard field goal by Taylor Bertolet from the left hash on first down. He had a strong win behind him but the ball hit the camera deck and would have easily been good from 60. Again ... not a whole lot to report from today but there you go. We're talking to Dave Christensen for the first time today. Should be a good one.

Heard a rumor that we'll be getting new uniforms for the 2015 season... Anyone hear the same thing?

New uniform design or uniform supplier (I.e. Nike, UnderArmoud)?

No. But you've got me wondering. The only thing I've ever really wanted re the uni's was going back to gray pants with the home maroons. I can't stand the maroon pants. Wouldn't like them even if we could win in them.

Yeah, according to GBH the Adidas contract expires in June. I did not know this.

Time again for Nike imo.

Though, I've been pleasantly surprised with some of the stuff adidas has put out for the ags. I just really want a move back to Nike.

However, I'm almost positive a&m just renewed a contract with adidas last summer. Never saw the specifics though or where we rank compared to Adidas' other contracts. I could be mistaken.

Yep, you're right. It was June 2014 that it expired. We renewed it (obviously) and I can't find any credible source of the terms/duration to save my life.

Anywho~ I'm wagering we're still with Adidas through 2015. Sorry for the misinformation.

Main thing is: I want gray pants and no golden zebra stripes.

I was in the "bring back Nike" camp up until 2012. The threads adidas has rolled out for us in football and across the board since the SEC move have been on point, though.

I'm cool with keeping 'em.

I meant a new design. I'd like to see a new design too so if the rumor is true I'll be very happy. I've also been very happy with the job Adidas has done with us since us joining the SEC. We've had some really awesome uniforms the past couple years imo. I am pro Adidas at this point
