He referred to himself as OBC at least once back in the day. that's when it started.

No ... he commented one time that a reporter in Florida mistakenly referred to him as "the ole ball coach" in a column and he corrected that individual. But he said he never liked "ole or old" and that he was simply "the head ball coach." He liked that.

I don't care what he is now. I'm saying he was once called the OBC because he referred to himself as that in a presser. I don't have time to dig up info at work, but maybe later.

he really is, and note when I call him the OBC, it is a term of respect,, Old Ball Coach,,, (not old balls) like some idiots are using in an attempt to insult.

he's stated he doesn't like it

that's because he's OLD, he needs to realize the times they are a changin..

in fact,,, deal with it!

When you intentionally call someone the wrong name, that is disrespectful.

because it's a nickname, you don't always get to choose your nickname, that doesn't make it derogatory at face.

Has SOS ever shown disrespect to a fellow coach in his profession? How 'bout a school or their student-athletes?

I don't recall the HBC ever being disrespectful concerning another school, its athletes, or another coach?

shite, half of the stuff he says is true.

For example, when asked how he felt about playing Georgia in the sixth week of the season instead of Carolina's traditional second week date with the Bulldogs, the HBC quipped: "I don’t know. I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended."
