Newman was for a time, but Ben took it from him 2 summers ago.

We took the #1 over all from everyone.
We took Blakney from Louisville, UK, and Mizzou.
I think you forget that LSU was a pretty damn good at recruiting in the 90's when Jones was an assistant under Dale. Hell we got put on probation, Jones lost his job, and only after the longest ever NCAA investigation came to an end in 97. From like 82-97 the NCAA was searching LSU left and right for a reason to nail us.
It took them getting lester Earl to lie to get anything.

while I can imagine watching another fan base consistently celebrated the addition of #1 recruits gets irritating, please try to keep it together. If not for yourself at least for your loved ones

Well, considering it's been 8 months since he took over #1 and you claimed 24 months...
I could care less. Simmons is going to go to LSU and be a bust compared to his hype. He'll be good but LSU won't develop him.
