I agree with you.

Whether Steele is a downgrade or not remains to be seen.

If he sucks next year, he can be replaced.
We definitely upgraded on the line and that's where our problem has been.

Everything is hypocritical until the season plays out...

To be fair, our 2007 team had Major Applewhite as OC. He belongs on a radio show. Not a college sideline.

Obviously I'm biased but I think our defensive talent can make a mediocre DC better and take pressure as whole off him.
If that's true, what makes him better than Chavis?

How long will it be before Steele finds out he is responsible for the loss even if the offense can't find it's way across the 50 yard line.

The Coach O hire was tremendous. I think his enthusiasm is infectious; no surprise he is a tremendous recruiter.

But the Steele hire was and is a big surprise. I know he is a nice man and a good recruiter, but I don't see a history of success as a DC. Why not go with a young up-and-comer with a good resume? or perhaps a guy with NFL experience?

Miles has had great success though, so he deserves the benefit of the doubt. More will be revealed

I can see how people will see Steele as a downgrade. However talent can make up for a multitude of sins and LSU is always loaded.

I dont think he's the strategist and game planner that Chief is.

Melts like the ones we're about to enjoy from them this upcoming season need to be cured to a perfection to be properly enjoyed by the rest of us.

For aTm fans to think that their defense will do a complete 180 is asinine. I guarantee our defense will still rank better than aTm next season. We may step a slight step back this season on defense but we will not be nearly as bad as atm.

Look at this shitty arse defense.

Arguably the best melt will be A&M fans when they realize Sumlin's offense and Chavis's defense can never coexist. Auburn fans are in for a similar reality.

I think AU will be fine. Gus tends to have a run 1st offense. I don't think that changes with JJ, even though he is the better passer of he and Marshall.

Sumlin/Spavital are going to have to retool the offense if they want the D to perform up to its capabilities. They are too pass heavy right now.

Cameron didn't set any of those records.

Cameron already had a polished Mett, OBJ, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill. You or I could have called the plays and had great results with that talent. Don't fool yourself.

Yes, at least that's what LSU fans told me. Right after they said "Chavis is the best DC in the SEC, he'll NEVER leave LSU for texas A&M"
