Stats from the game
Portis: 15 points and 8 rebounds in 32 minutes

WCS: 7 points and 9 rebounds in 32 minutes

Portis ftw

Kentucky, who will win SEC team of the year.

Now back on topic, Portis is the obvious choice for POY.

It's POY you dipshit.

Take Stein off Kentucky, they are still damn, damn good.

Take Portis off Arkansas and that's 7-8 wins gone.

This is not a best team award.

But I wouldn't say head to head should be determining factor either. It's a total season and imo, it should go to Portis off that alone.

I mean if it's solely about points and rebounds from one game, then you can probably just hand it off to Trey Lyles for his performance yesterday.

Portis is deserving, but assuming WCS isn't because of a stat line is silly too.

At least that many. I don't think there's been a more important player to their team this year than Portis has been to us. He's got stats but for anyone who watched some of our early games especially there were moments (eta: by moments I means multi moments as in the first 10 minutes of a game or such) when he was the only one who could shoot or do anything right and he by himself kept us in the game several times until someone(s) else finally stepped up to help.

Whether that's POY worthy or not I don't really know but he's been our Man for sure.

He was just using the same criteria the OP was using, and it's not like danuel house shouldn't even be in the discussion

Ahhh well I didn't agree with OP on that criteria.

I don't know enough about House. Yearly stats to this point?

Well, it won't be long before the NBA can cast their vote.

He's top 10 in scoring, I think 7th, while second in three pointers made per game and shooting 43% from three.
