The mizzou basketball thread got me wondering...what is the single worst basketball team in the history of the SEC?

The thread is open for nominations. Provide team, year, conference record for the year, total record for the year, and any further consideration that you think sets your nomination apart from the other candidates.

(We might also wonder...what is the single worst team in the history of the SEC, across all sports.)

Recently off hand I can think of the 2011 USC team was pretty awful and a UGA team in early 2000s was something like 2-14 with 7 or 8 wins total.

That is just recent though.

And yes the LSU hockey team takes the cake.

It's a club team..but they are fricking garbage

They quit posting scores on their team page because they haz a sad.

vs Georgia: L 15-0
vs Auburn: L 17-3
vs Texas St: L 24-3
vs Texas St: L 19-3
vs ULL: L 20-1
vs ULL: L 21-1

It's like the hawks vs district 5..only way worse.

I went through the standings on ESPN, but they only go back to about 2000. In that time, nobody has done worse than 2-14 in conference. This year's Mizzou team seems to be on par with that UGA and that USCe team.

Surely there is some team back there that went 0-fer, though.

2-14 in league play
Saving the team is two top 10 OOC wins.

I don't know if the Pelphry team was the worst, but it was the most painful season of basketball to sit through. Big OOC wins had everyone cautiously optimistic about the season... and then the bottom fell completely out.
