Well, this is awkward.

Yeah, it is awkward.

It seems to contradict everything you guys are saying.

Matt wasn't completely firm on enrolling early or his commitment to LSU. LSU coaches obviously knew that - since he was taking visits.

LSU coaches contact him "extra" - as was self reported.

LSU gets sanctioned because they broke the rules.

LSU fans blame Bama.

Makes sense.

Not what happened. Lsu did not have unlimited contact, that was even acknowledged by Womacks father. When Decemeber rolled around, and the kid said he was enrolling early, we got in contact in order to help the kid setup classes and enroll in school. I have no clue what else we could have possibly done.

Really?

According to Matt Womack's father:

quote:

They used the unlimited contact and they knew if Matt changed his mind they would pay a price," David Womack said.

I fairness, I saw anarticle in which Womack's dad was quoted that LSU did NOT use the eltter for unlimted contact. However, it was from a NOLA newspaper....frankly, if a kid signs the letter then I see nothing wrong with LSU contacting him per the rules. If the kid did not want to be contacted, then he shouldn't have signed the letter.

How often do schools rat out other schools for recruiting violations?

LSU chose to use it with Womack. Why, I'm not sure - since he was obviously not solid.

Not sure how you're getting it was not obvious, the dude had a purple and gold truck

Of course the family would blame LSU publicly it makes their son look better in the public eye. The father protecting his son and most likely lying to save face, any other ground breaking links available?

Uh, no. It actually confirms everything I've been saying. I don't care what other people were claiming.

It reaffirms my position that LSU was led to believe that Womack was, in fact, going to enroll at LSU late in the process. If you want proof, just look at his father admitting the coaches weren't sold on his commitment. I wonder what gave them the idea that he actually was going to enroll....

It's the truth. I know it's uncomfortable for some of you because Alabama football is all you have in your lives/that state, but it's simply a fact.

It happens quite often actually. Though, I'm sure Bama doesn't partake in such actions.

A. Womack was the only kid I remember signing a FAA with us this past cycle.

B. Considering his dad was on our message board saying he was solid all season, you don't think a little misdirection could have been going on there? They told our coaches good stuff and then left us not quite at the alter, but at the rehearsal dinner.

C. If you think LSU isn't being fricked over, I don't know what to tell you. I don't blame the Womack's, he's an 18 year old kid. I blame the shitty regulatory body that has its own head so far up its arse it doesn't even know the first step to get dislodged.

Let me see if I understand this:

LSU is being penalized for having Unlimited Contact.

Unlimited Contact is an unfair advantage that will help LSU.

LSU does not get player.

This is assbackwards.

Lol right because solid commits never take other visits to enjoy the process or recruit for their schools

It's like some of you don't follow how recruiting works at all

Well, let's see...

He committed to LSU on July 20th

Unofficially visited and received an offer from Alabama on September 13th

Was visited by Tide coach Billy Napier on October 3rd

Took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss on October 4th for the Bama game

Unofficially visited Alabama on November 15th for the Mississippi State game.

Got a visit on December 8th from Tide OL coach Mario Cristobal

Officially visited Alabama on December 12th.

His last trip to LSU at any point was on September 20th.

That, to me, seems obvious that he was at the very least wavering on his commitment.

I'm not sure how else to explain it.

The very definition of a "solid commitment" means the prospect is no longer taking visits.

Do you even recruiting website, bro?
