Why wouldn't Bama do it? It's a rules violation, as of April 2014 at least.

Do you really believe Nick Saban gives a shite about how many times LSU coaches contacted Womack while he was committed to LSU?

Do you honestly believe that?

Do you honestly believe that Nick Saban would give enough of a shite to turn LSU in for that?

All of the things that needed to get taken care of in regards to housing, enrollment, etc... could have been taken care of within the normal allotted contact periods.

Do you know this to be a fact?

ETA: Also, if it could be done within the normal contact allotment, why would the NCAA allow extra contact at all? They obviously seem to believe that extra contact is warranted for something.

Looks like he might've been the driving force behind the rule change, which looks like it took effect this past April:

So another rule was created because of bama. Go figure.

Programs snitch on each other over minor infractions all the time.

Of course, I shouldn't be surprised that you honestly seem to believe that Bama is somehow "above such things"

LSU chose to use it with Womack. Why, I'm not sure - since he was obviously not solid.

Yeah obviously huh? Its not like he was committed to LSU or anything.

In the end though, if I'm Les Miles, I make this a positive. Any recruit wanting FAA privileges in the future must be a resident of Louisiana.

So, chalk up another believer in the "Bama is somehow morally above such actions" camp?

FAA rules aren't as stupid as Tiger fans are suggesting

These rules prevent schools from handing out FAA like candy in order to have unlimited contact with any recruit they choose.

There has to be rules in place to prevent this from happening.

The only way to enforce those rules is to enforce them with consistency across the board. That sucks for LSU, and it's something that certainly needs to be amended for situations such as this... But don't blame Saban, Bama, the REC, or the SEC office for LSU's mistake. You forgot Womack...

The rules were in place. LSU knew the rules. LSU knew Womack wasn't solid, and they chose to have that unlimited contact anyway.

HE SIGNED FINANCIAL AID PAPERS
What do you not understand about that ???????
LSU was supposed to EXPECT him to decommit ???

'LSU knew Womack wasn't solid' ????????

Whaaaa ??? How TF do YOUUUUUUUUUUU know ????

And I love his little FU tweet after the sanctions were handed down. "Roll Tide"

Yeah, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTHING fishy about this.

I'm not surprised by your Little Lord Fauntleroy baby innocent stance.....

In the last few weeks I have attempted to be impartial and even nice in my posts.
Don't know if I can do that anymore..

Two other schools signed Hampton to FAAs as well...not sure why it's solely Bama's fault...

They chose to use it to set up his classes and help him enroll. You know things that need to be done before he enrolls. When he pulled out at the last minute, it made all extra contact void

The contact isn't the main issue with Womack. It's that he never enrolled early. He changed his mind after signing binding documents. He could have switched to Bama and enrolled early, and none of this would have surfaced. Instead he switched verbals, didn't enroll early, and took to Twitter to celebrate LSU's misery.

Not what happened. Lsu did not have unlimited contact, that was even acknowledged by Womacks father. When Decemeber rolled around, and the kid said he was enrolling early, we got in contact in order to help the kid setup classes and enroll in school. I have no clue what else we could have possibly done.

Don't bother. Several LSU posters, myself included, have already provided this information. They just ignore it and keep trolling.

As to the comment re bama not asking for phone records, etc. just consider all that had to happen was the kid/his family reporting this to bama. And with his gloating, it's not a very hard stretch of the imagination to see him doing just that. And, yea, I agree, once again mighty Alabama is way too moral to stoop to anything like this. Not saying it happened, as we did self report, but give me a break. bama & Saban is no better than any other power 5 football program when it comes to recruiting.
