Haha thanks for proving my point. They were the 12-16th best team that season. Good not great

So top 12-16 out of ~350 D1 teams is good, but not great. Noted.

That was a great team. Anyone who actually watched LSU play knew that it was a great team before the tournament

14-2 in SEC play. We lost to #2 Uconn by 1 point on the road. We lost @ OSU by 2. Won 19 of the last 23 games.

We went from being a good team to a great team during the season

KENTUCKY

A lot of you folks apparently never saw Bob Petit play. He was amazing, could do it all. Almost single handedly won an NBA title in the middle of Auerbach's amazing run.

UK has had a single player better than Shaq, Pistol, Petit, or Jackson in the past 10 years?

They had one just as good in Dan Issel before the last decade.

ETA: Who still holds the SEC double-double record at 63 career double doubles.

Even Dale and Johnny wouldn't have wasted that talented team

They would have stuffed Bobby Knight in a garbage can

how many D1 teams are there in the country and how many of those LSU starters went on to the NBA? How many of those players still see the floor?

If you can answer these questions, then you have the ability and cas4t's permission to discuss LSU basketball

until then you'll continue to sound ignorant
