I'll disagree. The State/LSU history is fantastic and literally built SEC baseball, which led to NCAA baseball as we know it. There isn't a more heated rivalry. If you find an LSU fan who loves Polk and Cohen, or a State fan who loves Maneiri and Bertman, I'll suck your dick personally.
That's all good and great ... and we do appreciate that rivalry, it's a good one.
But SCAR and the taterheads were doing it, taking baseball seriously, long before MSU or LSU really cared about baseball. Before there was Polk and Bertman at MSU and LSU, there was Bobby Richardson (yes that Bobby Richardson, Yankee Great bobby Richardson) at South Carolina and Bill Wilhelm at Clemson. And while I do not like anything taterhead in general ... Bill Wilhelm not only made baseball what it is in the state of South Carolina, he had a lot to do with promoting it all over the southeast. It was a helluva man - truly a great baseball man.
The SCAR vs Clemson rivalry was heated in the 50s.

... and no, MSU and LSU did not make SEC baseball what it is today nor did SEC baseball lead to NCAA baseball as we know it today.
That's such a bull shite hubristic claim I don't even know where to begin.
LSU baseball is the king of SEC baseball. MSU ... notsomuch.
LSU
SCAR
Vandy
Georgia
Florida
MSU
Arkansas
Ole Miss
.... the rest.

Just about everyone in college baseball would disagree with you. But I'll let Aaron Fitt's quote speak for itself:
Quoting anything by Aaron Fitt should be a criminal offense. This is the same guy that says LSU-Tulane is a top 5 rivalry. There are plenty of fans who have been around longer than 20 years that will call bullshite on this.
FSU-Miami
Long Beach State-Cal St Fullerton
USC-UCLA
Rice-Texas
Are all examples of rivalry games, depending where you live, are considered better than USC-Clemson. Baseball is more territorial than football and basketball. People ain't just going to sit down and watch two college baseball teams because of a heated rival(There are exceptions to every rule, die hard fans for example).
Hell, back in the early days OU and Withcita St. was nasty.

State and LSU don't play this weekend bro.

They changed the game times for both games today and tomorrow but I will have to find them. I think it's 11:00 and 4:00 today (Arizona/Samford)then Arizona/MSU). Tomorrow is 11:00 and 2:30 (technically 30 minutes after completion of game 1, I think). Cold weather/global warming the culprit)

Am I the only one who found this to be a bit too enthusiastic of a promise?

Storm Wilson smacks a 2-strike pitch down the RF line, scoring Carson and giving #UKbaseball a 2-1 lead in the B6th.

Props to us, Alabama, UGA, South Carolina and especially State for playing some decent competition this week.

After first two Wildcats reach, Sasse retires next three in order and puts up a zero. Omaha down 2-1 headed to the eighth.

Four consecutive 2 out singles in the eighth inning have lifted UNO to a 3-2 lead.
