the sun hasn't been out in like 3 days, more rain and gray for today. it was in the fricking 20's earlier this week... but it will be sunny and in the low 80's for multiple days in a row next week

Summers in Florida actually aren't that bad... the water moderates the temperature somewhat.
South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi however..
I spent 2 summers in Columbia as an undergrad and it's hellish. Rains every afternoon, humid before and after, temperature never drops below 90 degrees for 4 months, even at night. The good thing though, if its not raining then there's always a pool party at some student apartment complex. And we took weekend trips to Charleston almost every week.

Agreed. Florida summers aren't bad. I spent a lot of summers growing up down in the gables with the fam, and it was pretty pleasant out.
