In 2015, why will mizzou win the east over the vols?

Better coaching. Better OL. More experienced (better?) QB. More favorable schedule.

To be honest though, I could see UT winning it. I think they'll be good next year.

Lot's of noise about Florida because of the new coach, but the Vols. are quietly putting together one hell of a foozball squad. This year or next, they will be at the top of the SEC East CC discussion.

A lot of folks, I'm one of them, think that while the Vols will be good next year they are probably a year away from putting enough pieces in the puzzle to contend for the SEC East.

Based on what I have seen and looking at Mizzou's schedule for this coming season I think it will be race between UGA and Mizzou. While I think Georgia has the most talented team in the East, and possibly in the SEC, they seem to find ways to lose a couple of games a year.

We've been there and succeeded whereas Dobbs & Butch haven't....yet. I think Dobbs is good but unproven at this point.

I'd say the obvious reasons are Mizzou has more talent and better coaching.

Maybe there are other reasons?

Mizzou having more talent than Tennessee is debatable, but from my observation, Gary Pinkel is a better coach than Butch Jones, no question.

According to the "star" services, TN has better talent but sometimes high school talent doesn't translate to D1 talent.

Indubitably. That talent still has to be developed.

I'm sold on Jones as a recruiter, but I have my doubts about him as a coach.

So the decline is real?

I watched Mizzou hand UT your arse on a silver platter in your own house last fall. Other than Hurd, I didn't see a single UT player that looked on Mizzou's level.

We had the worst OL in Tennessee history going up against one of the best d lines in the country, of course we were gonna look bad.

As for our defense, we just lost our team captain and only all American because of a rape allegation (not convicted, yet) and replaced him with a guy who had only been playing football for a year. We didn't call a single blitz all game, which is not our style.

As for handing us our arse, you won by 8 points, come on man. You beat us, but don't act like you just dominated the whole game, because that's just bullshite.

Probably the schedule. I also think our running game will shine this coming year.

UT has a lot of good players man. Specifically at the skill positions and along the D line.

Yea they do, and our WR woes from last year have only multiplied.

Hope we can grab another rabbit out of the hat though
