https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/wide-receiver-u-sec-last-decade/

1. SC
6 - 4* or 5* commits
4 - 1st Team All SEC
1 - AP All Americans
6 - Players Drafted

2. LSU
19 - 4* or 5* commits
0 - 1st Team All SEC
0 - AP All Americans
11 - Players Drafted

3. Tenn
15 - 4* or 5* commits
2 - 1st Team All SEC
1- AP All Americans
4 - Players Drafted

(* From article's perspective, they gave too much credit in their calculations for getting 4* or 5* receivers, that doesn't matter. It's what the receivers do when they're in college that matters AND if you did get 4* or 5* guys, how well did they do?)

(SIDE NOTE)
Schools with the WORST ratio of 4* or 5* commits divided by WR's drafted into the NFL.
Miss St - 4 - 4* or 5* WR's. 0 were drafted. 0%
Bama - 16 4* or 5* WR's, 2 were Drafted. 12.5%
Ole Miss - 11 4* or 5* WR's. 2 were Drafted. 18.2%
Tenn - 15 4* or 5* WR's. 4 were Drafted. 26.6%

They seriously used # of stars as a factor?

If so, that's a joke of a list

So LSU has had by far the most NFL ready receivers, but consistently lacks a competent QB? I'm shocked

That's what I read into it too.

Yes, that's why I had to edit it. How can you say they're the best school for WR's if they just get a bunch of 4* or 5* WR's and then those WR's never get any post season honors or get drafted? It didn't make sense, so I changed it.

We haven't had a 1st team All-SEC WR?

Kinda hard to believe

You guys are the BEST at getting WR's drafted, there's no question about that, the numbers are what they are. However, y'all just didn't have a 1st Team All SEC or All American WR over those 10 years.

I would think Doucet, Randle, Beckham and Landry would have at least gotten votes for 2nd team...

so like I implied-LSU has more NFL ready talent, but Spurrier is much better at getting ball in players' hands, and LSU lacks good qbs.

what the players care the most is getting the paycheck, so LSU still has great selling points for recruits

I think we both know landry and beckham were more than deserving SEC AA status.

Think I just realized the biggest problem outside of not throwing it much has simply been these really good guys all being on the same teams.

Landry and Beckham together
Bowe/Doucet/Davis all together
Randle/Toliver/LaFell all together

Hell Bowe, Doucet, Davis AND LaFell were all on the same team together at one point, that's nuts.

I was surprised by this list.. I actually thought SC was underachieving at WR. It's funny because I still feel like we could have done much better.

With a better OL from '-05-'09, we would've.

Also, Tori Gurley should've stayed another year, he would've been drafted the next. Although, he's been on NFL practice squads the whole time since he left, earning $6,000 a week, so it wasn't the worst decision in the world.

I don't see Julio and Amari taking a back seat to ANYONE.

Alshon Jeffery and Sidney Rice could give them a run for their money.

So, if you're a WR and want to get paid to play football, go to LSU. If you want to put up nice stats in college and end up selling cars, go elsewhere.

ETA: You all can now stop asking why top WRs continue to play for LSU despite the lack of QB play. You have your answer.

2013: Mike Evans and Jordan Matthews
2012: Cobi Hamilton and Jordan Matthews
2011: Jarius Wright and Da'Rick Rodgers
2010: Alshon Jeffery and Julio Jones
