I've only seen one TX HS game, but they have the reputation for a reason. I go see the Louisiana State championships every year and they're great. Florida is loaded, California is loaded. I played in MS and I love the football here, know tons of teams. I know little to nothing about AL,TN,AR, or GA football.

Edit: One Texas game in person. Watched a few state championships on TV.

Edit #2 Bonus Question: What is each state's best program? I'd say Allen in TX, Curtis in LA, and South Panola in MS.

AL is better than TX. The top teams are better. The only reason TX is in the discussion is because of the sheer amount of teams and large high school. Alabama just doesn't have the depth.

Sure.

I'm not dong the whole "everything is bigger in Texas" but you could put Allen, Cy Fair, and Katy over just about every team in the nation and probably be right 99% of the time.

Sincerely not putting down any other state and circle jerking.

Texas isn't the best HS FB state

It's Florida, then Louisiana, and then Texas

Especially per capita. It's easy for Texas to have really good high school football teams with cities like Houston with triple the population of the entire state of Arkansas. I'd take the southeast region of the US over Texas which is a more fair comparison.

The best teams in Miami and the glades are better than the best teams everywhere else.

Hoover is as consistent of a program as there is in the country

Curtis is always good, Byrnes in Sc, Oscar Smith in Virginia...but there are several teams in Miami that wreck shop every year. Booker T, Northwestern, and Carol come to mind. Northwestern had Teddy Bridgewater throwing to Amari Cooper at one point. St. Thomas Aquinas right up the road in Ft. Lauderdale is always stacked. Armwood in seffner is always stacked. Clearwater, Tallahassee Lincoln, Pahokee, all the schools in Pompano Beach.

Florida>>Texas

Just no. There's a reason Miami dominated college football. They put up a fence around south florida. Texas has cherry picked an area 500 times that size for a century and never seen the dominance that Miami did when they had a fence around south Florida.

Hoover would wreck all those teams you mentioned.
