I'm actually starting to think Anderson will be gone after this season.

I liked the hire and I've stuck with him the whole time so far despite our struggles, but with a new AD coming in, I think Anderson is in serious jeopardy.
Rebuilding...youth....instilling discipline in young men.....etc. are all valid reasons for struggling on the court. But I'm not convinced, nor do I think the new AD will be convinced, that these reasons justify a 7-25 season that ended with a (most likely) 17 game losing streak.
Watching the end of the game today, I honestly couldn't help but think we look exactly like the Washington Generals. My faith in Anderson's ability to turn this program around is eroding at light-speed.

I never thought I'd see Mizzou basketball this bad.

I hate to admit it, but I"m starting to agree. Set aside giving him a freebie this year due to rebuilding etc..which I agree with. He just looks lost, not only in preparation, but even his facial expressions.
I'm conflicted between feeling for him and being pissed.

I know...I'm exactly the same. I have vehemently defended him all season but these last few games have been wearing heavily on me. I want him to succeed but my opinion on whether he actually can is changing.

Not that I disagree with you on the direction of the program, but he's not getting fired after 1 year.
Now, Id previously said he'll get at least 3 but if we don't see significant improvement next year I could see him axed.

One of the worst hires in D1 history.
Worst hire in Mizzou history.
He will get year 2. Maybe 3.

He'll get next year.
Yes, a new AD but he won't come in until August. I doubt he'll make a change of basketball coaches in his first 3 months. KA will get next year and if it's single digit wins again, I think he might be gone, when I thought before he should get 3-4 years.

I've been saying that all year. He looks like he's completely lost and doesn't know what to do next. Of course, I've been told that's bullshite and it's just KA's demeanor.

He will get one more year, with Alden on the way out it would be difficult to hire a new coach. He wouldn't know who his new boss would be and theres only 7 weeks left to recruit in this cycle. We are boned for the foreseeable future unless KA can somehow land Bryant and an impact JUCO scorer like Mulder. I would say he needs to land a 4* or above PG who can start from day 1 as well.
I don't see any of that happening unfortunately, I'm afraid we'll get stuck with Cook and another developmental guard of some type and we'll probably lose a couple of the current freshman. We have little to no help coming in with our current recruiting class, he's got 7 weeks to change that or we're in real trouble for next season as well.

If we don't go .500 next year, or close to it where we see significant improvement, it's time to part ways with him.
I want him to succeed for all the obvious reasons, but I can't support this shite. An average basketball conference we land in should be taken advantage of and exploited. My tolerance is wearing thin and lack the patience I thought I would have.

When you take the emotion out in regards to Kim's ties to Mizzou....you cant start to realize it was a terrible hire.
I would like to see the new AD cut bait as soon as possible and start the search for his replacement. If the performance on the court and the transfers that are surely leaving isnt enough to frighten you the recruiting should seal the deal.

I agree with your whole post kilo. The prevailing wisdom though, is if we cut him loose after 1 season, it will be hard to find a good replacement. Coaching circles and all that (they talk amongst themselves).
Howland is still out there and bet he would take it with a reasonable explaination on why we needed a change.

Anderson won't be cut. Won't happen. He'll at least get one more season. So why the continued speculation on who will replace him after this season? Seems like a waste of time. Just suck it up and enjoy football while that success lasts.

No he won't be cut after one season, I'm not opposed to this line of thinking anymore though.

If a coach has watched any Mizzou basketball this year and isn't sure he can do better, I don't want him.

The intellectual part of me says yes, you don't fire a coach after year 1, especially the position he was put in.
My fan and impatient side says "frick NO" get him out of here and let's get the ball rolling to recovery.
I'm conflicted my good man.

I thought he would be here for next year at the minimum no matter what.
With a new AD coming in, I'm not so sure. The new AD may want a year to come in and evaluate coaches to replace Anderson for a year though before he hires a new coach.

folks, he'll be here next year. you'll damage the program's reputation worse if you fire a first year coach with one of the youngest teams in bball after his 1st year.
It won't happen people.
