With the NFL Combine underway, I got to thinking of who the SEC teams are with dominant presences in the NFL. I decided to rank the SEC colleges by position.

A couple prefaces:
1. This is a ranking of how players are currently performing in the NFL, not how they have performed over their careers.
2. Value is based on a potential trade for this past season only (guys with potential like Moncrief aren't quite as valuable). Which team would say no? For example: A team with Arian Foster would make a trade if they could get all 4 LSU running backs in return.

Quarterback
1. Tennessee (Manning, Simms, Bray)
2. Auburn (Newton, Campbell)
3. Texas A&M (Tannehill, Manziel)

Running Back
1. Alabama (Lacy, Ingram, Richardson)
2. LSU (Hill, Ridley, Blue, Ware)
3. Tennessee (Foster)

Wide Receiver
1. LSU (Beckham Jr., Boone, Bowe, Holliday, LaFell, Landry, Randle, Shepard, Wright)
2. Kentucky (Cobb, Johnson, Matthews)
3. Alabama (Jones, Norwood)

Tight End
1. Tennessee (Witten, Rivera, Stocker)
2. Texas A&M (Bennett)
3. Florida (Reed, Burton)

Offensive Line
1. Alabama (Smith, Fluker, Kouandjio, Carpenter, Williams, Jones, Warmack, Steen, Mathis, Tinker)
2. Arkansas (Peters, Swanson, Bailey, Goode, Garner)
3. LSU (Whitworth, Turner, Barksdale)

Defensive Line
1. Missouri (Ju. Smith, A. Smith, Ealy, Hood, Richardson, Ja. Smith, Hamilton, Mosley)
2. Texas A&M (Bennett, Moore, Jerod-Eddie, Bryant)
3. Georgia Clemons, Dobbs, Johnson, Jones, Tyson, Wynn, R. Geathers, K. Geathers, Atkins, Golston, Jenkins, Smith)

Linebacker
1. Georgia (Houston, Ogletree, Jones, Ellerbe, Davis, Dent, Washingotn)
2. Alabama (Hightower, McClain, Mosley, Ryans, Upshaw, N. Johnson, J. Johnson, Harris, Hubbard)
3. Texas A&M (Miller, Porter, Askew)

Defensive Back
1. LSU (Peterson, Mathieu, Reid, McCray, Simon, Loston, Clark, Claiborne, Brooks)
2. Florida (Elam, Evans, Hill, Nelson, Haden, Roverson, Watkins, Wright)
3. Alabama (Barron, Clinton-Dix, Harper, Jackson, Johnson, Kirkpatrick, Lester, Milliner, Sunseri)

Kicker/Punter
1. Texas A&M (Bullock, Lechler)
2. South Carolina (Succop, Lanning)
3. Auburn (Parkey)

Thoughts?

Eli is better than Tannehill and Manziel combined.

I'd flip 1 and 2 Lbers but it's close so I don't really have an issue.

I know UGA only has 1 so we obviously lack in the quantity department, but are we really behind A&M? Manziel is a non-factor so disregard him. Would you take tannehill over stafford tomorrow?

Eli is better than Cam and Campbell too.

Ole Miss should be two there.

I think Eli Manning is probably better than Tannehill and Manziel.

Eli's definitely had a better career than Cam and Tannehill, but watching Eli over the last couple seasons there is no way I would take him over those two guys.

I'm not sure I would take him over Cam, but that's because Cam is young and talented. I'm not as high on Tannehill though.

I'd take LSU's RB output over Bama's, too. Ingram has been ok and Lacy has been solid. But Richardson is barely a footnote at this point.

LSU Defensive Line should be on you list, IMO.
i.e.,
Barkevious Mingo, Glenn Dorsey, Rickey Jean-Francois, Bennie Logan, Kyle Williams, Tyson Jackson, Michael Brockers, Ego Ferguson

Nice list 34.

I would maybe put LSU near the top 3 for defensive linemen also:

Michael Brockers
Kyle Williams
Glenn Dorsey
Barkevious Mingo
Ricky Jean-Francois
Bennie Logan
Tyson Jackson

Ego Fersuson - borderline
Lavar Edwards - borderline
Anthony Johnson - borderlin
Sam Montgomery - borderline

Definitely Kick Returning:
Patrick Peterson
Trindon Holliday

Linebackers - probably not yet
Kevin Minter
Kelvin Shepard
Lamin Barrow

Definitely Punter:
Brad Wing
Donnie Jones

edited (took out OL - saw it in OP :)

I did, so there definitely could be some of my bias in there but I tried to leave it out.

That LSU-Bama matchup for RB was really close for me. I think Hill and Lacy are pretty close talent wise, but I'd probably take Lacy, and then I'd take Ingram over any of the other guys so I gave them the nod. Richardson blows, so he didn't really factor into anything.
