What happened to Mississippi State basketball?

Last night felt like beating Croom in 2008, I almost felt sorry for the status of MSU's hoops program more than I enjoyed the W. Meanwhile, Ole Miss is proving once again they are the dominant overall athletic program in Mississippi and at the top of the SEC West.
Football - Good bowl berth & big time wins
Basketball - NCAA berth & new arena
Baseball - CWS & elite facility/atmosphere
Ole Miss Athletics: Where the Air is Crisp

They fired Stansbury (rightfully so) but then made one of the worst hires I've seen in a long time at a decent program.

They should have never fired Stansbury, he could recruit his arse off and had them consistently in the NCAA most years.

At least Kim Anderson has won some championships in another division.
Rick Ray been an assistant at a handful of schools like Clemson, Purdue, and Northern Illinois. I mean if you're going to go the assistant route at least dip at a major program.

Alford is just waiting for Crean's buyout to drop low enough. You'll be free of him in a couple seasons.

The shite that went on under Stansbury is why we couldn't hire anyone. No one wanted this job when we let him go. I worked with the program Ray's first year. It was definitely a mess left by Stans.
