No link, it just scrolled across my phone. That doesn't sound very encouraging, though.

He's probably not as far along in his rehab as he'd like, but this seems like a bad move on his part.

possibly.

I don't know, I'd like to know more about why he didn't let them. I mean it was late november it happened, so it's only been 3 months. He might not want it being poked and prodded. Plus, it's not like he's a sleeper from a low-major, there's 3 years worth of film of him being one of the best RBs in America. Teams know what they're getting with Todd.

the knee thing should only be a question of how soon is he back. I feel like there are ways to figure that out that don't involve wrenching or fiddling around with his knee this weekend.

Yup. Probably straight from Jay himself.

Regardless of what is really going on it can't be worse than the speculation will be for him not letting them examine it.

I don't see the upside in this...but I'm not a gazillionaire rapper so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

it's cause he never hurt it.

Didn't go to James Andrews and now this.
He faked it. Told CMR he'd come back for the AU game and then he's out.

Proven or not, he needs to prove he's physically ready and capable.

Look at what happened to Marcus Lattimore. I bet that's on the mind of a lot of NFL teams out there.

I agree he needs to let them look at it, but I also think Lattimore's injury was significantly worse than Gurley's. Lattimore also blew out both knees.

Apparently the doctors have already re injured one player's ankle while examining it.

Agreed on Lattimore's injuries being worse, but Gurley's history at UGA does bring into question how durable and injury prone he might be. Lattimore's career is over. Even if Gurley's is not (which trust me, I don't think it is), what if he starts off sluggish and injured or only last 2 years before blowing out his knees for good? These are the questions NFL teams are asking, and hiding from doctors can honestly only mean one thing for Gurley: he's not ready. If he were ready, he'd get a doctor to sign off. Maybe prove it at the combine, although I'm pretty sure he'd be nowhere near ready by then anyways, even if progressing.

There's around 120 people in the company. I doubt Jay Z is the one that advised Gurley to not let doctor's evaluate his leg. Just a hunch though...

Yeah, but games aren't in February. He needs to be ready by August.

Lattimore tore his knee up his sophomore year and missed the rest of the season, then in his junior year he obliterated the same leg and had to be carted off. The extent of his injuries are far worse than Todd, who just sprained his ACL which happens all the time in football.

How so?

2012: no injuries as a TF, played all year
2013: sidelined due to a defender rolling on the back of his ankle for a high ankle sprain. Missed half the season adn came back and gutted out the rest of it
2014: ACL injury. This one was non-contact so yes, I'll admit that that might raise some eyebrows. But to say he's "injury prone" isn't being accurate.

what will a hypothetical injury 2 years from now have to do with the combine?

no shite, he got injured 3 months ago. No human on earth would be ready. He doesn't have to be ready right now.

TG was sidelined for about a month in 2013. Tore his ACL the following year.

His performance after his sophomore injury was consistently worse than his freshman season and his sophomore games before the injury. He was obviously fine junior year.

History shows those who repeatedly get injured are more likely to get injured again than those who do not.

He could be nearly halfway to full recovery. That's more than enough time to get a doctor to determine good progress is being made.
