I was going to make this thread earlier. Totally forgot. It's amazing how many guys are leaving. Have you ever seen so many players transfer in one offseason before now? Scrooster

well we had to lose 7-8 to get the recruits signed.

KJ Brent was a head scratcher, he could've started next year as a 5th year Sr. Although, that begs the question, why didn't he have more stats last year as a 4th year Sr?

Green couldn't crack the 2Deep, Harris was a "get you fired 3 star" that you didn't know if he was a DE or LB. Lewis lost his starting spot to a younger player, so I get it.

Owens...he wasn't going to start, so I get it.

Rodgers and Roland couldn't stay out of trouble, I get it.

Really I'm just surprised by Turner, Roberts and McClain. They all had several years left. Roberts was 1 injury away from being a starter.

Spurrier's first or second year here maybe? Seems like he ran a bunch of'em off those first two years if I remember correctly during his program reformation period.

It's not uncommon for programs to have to go through it about every ten years or so I suppose .. it was time to send a house-cleaning message I think.

CIYE ... pretty good break-down of the transfers I think. Brent was the golden child three years ago. Green was just a waste. ... product of a spoiled high school career.

Shaq ... saw that coming last year. I blame a lot of it on his momma. That's maybe wrong of me ... I dunno. I tried to tell her - she ignored me.

Harris is a good kid.

The two LBs ... those were strictly Botkins' call. He's treating them like NFL style .... but he is honest about it with them.

We'll have a really young team next season .... again.

Mclain surprised me the most. He volunteered for bingo night at my daughters elementary school a couple weeks ago. Seemed like a really nice kid. (He and ali groves) I thought mclain was supposed to be a steal...coaches always seemed to compliment him.
And i had high hopes for rodgers. Shows what i know.

I did too. Didn't think he'd have off the field issues

McClain is really surprising and this is the first I've heard of him leaving

yep, couple days later and I'm still scratching my head. He was a guy that was doing a lot of things for the program off the field his RS year...this really didn't make any sense for him to transfer unless something bad went down that they have under lock and key right now.

McClain didn't do anything bad ... he just couldn't compete at this level.

Most of these kids were given honest assessments of where they stood going-into spring practice and with the new kids coming-in ... and they decided to seek more playing-time elsewhere.

I wouldn't look at it so much as a negative as I would look at it as the coaches evidently believe the talent coming-in this year is just that good.

It's actually a blessing for some of these guys - having a chance to transfer early.

I know half of these guys were asked to consider transferring because there was some question as to their dedication, asked if their hearts were truly in it - if they were enjoying life and having fun, etc.
