The ceiling talk on this instance is pretty simple.
Patterson is very close to a finished product from a physical and skill standpoint. The only major growth for him to make is the mental part of the game and that's the case with every hs qb. Even there though he is pretty advanced according to those that have scouted him. Basically his size/polished skillset combination have him close to "maxed out" as a prospect. He's about as good as he will get, which is very good. A lot of it ties to pro potential
Franks has prototype size and a frame that will allow for more bulk to be put on and increase his arm strength. He's also raw as a passer skill wise. His motion leaves a lot of room to improve. His release leaves plenty of room to improve as well. He's already a good, solidly skilled passer but has tons of room for improvement therefore not at his ceiling.
In short, Patterson is very close to as good as he will ever be from a physical and skill standpoint which gives him a high floor but low ceiling while Franks still has plenty of room for physical and skill growth but his floor is also much lower than Patterson's.
For a somewhat similar comparison at another position compare perhaps the 2 biggest hs stars of the last few years Clowney and Nkemdiche. Clowney was the personification of a high ceiling prospect while Nkemdiche was the prototype high floor prospect. Much more bust factor in Clowney than Nkemdiche because he was so raw while Nkemdiche was pretty polished and was at least gonna be a solid player regardless.

Upside, length, basically he's a Euro big man playing qb.

I'm 6'3 with a good frame and Im no where near polished as a quarterback. Does that mean I have a higher ceiling than Patterson?
I'll hang up and listen

Depends, what offers have you received?

Good to see a HS QB line up under center. That will make the transition to LSU smoother...

patterson is nowhere near 6'3

I got offered one year no interest on a new mattress last week.
I turned it down. They didn't see my true potential of what I might be able to develop into. With my frame, I could be developed into a better quarterback than Drew Brees. I know that he's already an nfl quarterback but he's already peaked and I have a better frame and more room to grow.
I don't see why I haven't been offered by any big time programs. I have a ton of room to grow and there's a chance I could develop into a heisman winning qb.

You read like absolute dog shite. I never said he was 6'3, you non-comprehending coonass.

He is a "midget", a "system QB" and has reached his ceiling already ...am I doing this right?
Posted on 2/18/15 at 8:28 am to monsterballads
That pic looks to be about a 3 inch height difference. 4 at the most

he's not a midget. he's around 6'1. don't know if he's a system QB or not but he's very smart and has better footwork than any other QB i've seen for the 2016 class. patterson is going to be very good at ole miss IMO

Also 17 year olds never grow.....

Well now you go and post a complement and make me feel bad for calling your a noncomprehending coonass.

never said they don't. patterson will fill out and probably get a little taller perhaps. he's got the intangibles IMO. my biggest worry is that other LSU targets follow him to ole miss. Ole Miss got a good QB.

I am laughing at the LSU guys saying he is 5'11. I am 6'0 (okay 5'11.75" but I round up) and I've stood next to him. He is definitely an inch or two taller than me.

Wanna say that to my face bro?!?!
Maybe at huddle house? I want some eggs and coffee.

The amount of butthurt you have over the fact LSU fans aren't running around here screaming about missing on Patterson is hilarious.
