He coached under Bobby Knight at IU, got to the National Title game back in 2002 at IU. He also coached at UAB. Played at Alabama and is from Fayette, Alabama

I don't think so. His career has consisted of a good season followed by bad seasons pretty much everywhere he has coached. Not consistent at all. I feel like that would be replacing mediocrity with proven mediocrity.

He would be Grant 2.0.
Or is Grant Davis 2.0?

They might as well shut the program down if they hire Mike Davis.

IMO they need to fire CAG right now and go looking for coaches.

The volunteer coach at St. Dominics would be an improvement. Many commenting with expertise here that had Grant being the savior for Gottfried's mess. Damn I miss making the field of 600.

Hey fellow dudewhole.
Mike Davis is borrowing as hades and brings zero excitement to the program. He would be another version of what we have now. We need someone like a Pearl who will promote the program and bring excitement to ttown. I suggest we let NS make the call.

This applies to football as well, but I think a good rule of thumb when considering a coaching candidate, ignore the fact they went to Alabama and judge them strictly on their resume. If having played at Alabama is the top 1-3 reasons they should be hired, then you're only asking for trouble.
