One of these is not like the other. Not saying WCS is a bad player, just that he doesn't carry the team on his back, which is what the award kinda stands for.

Isn't the award for the best player? I don't think WCS deserves it, but just because someone is on a good team and doesn't need to carry his team shouldn't preclude them from being the nation's best player.

Agree that Okafor is awesome, but he plays absolutely zero defense. I honestly don't think he can. It's a big part of Duke going zone.

I wouldn't even say Portis carries our team. He sure helps a lot though.
Qualls also averages 15.3 a game and when he is off, as he was prior to our last two games, it hurts our offense in a major way.

He should be back next year. Hopefully this can be a nice two year run to get the program reenergized again.

Another top 25 class this year. Probably lose Portis, but still have Kingsley and Thompson. Lose Madden, but Beard, Bell, Qualls still make a very good guard group.

All 3 are dominant players, WCS just doesnt have to carry his team like Portis and Mickey do. Dont see how you can say youd definitely take 1 over the other.

Personally, I think Portis is the best of the SEC players mentioned in this thread.
