It pisses me off to see a lot of our fans that I talk to every day criticize our team for how this season has gone.

We lost 4 seniors, who were primarily responsible for 3 straight Elite 8s and 1 Final 4 appearance.

We're down 2 wings, Francis (academics) and Walker (ACL). After winning 30 straight games, there is no reason for ANY Gator basketball fan to be pissed off at how this season has gone.

We are not UK in basketball. We never will be. I get the feeling many of our fans feel like an Elite 8 is guaranteed every year and have no clue about ANY Gator basketball history prior to winning back to back titles.

So yes its frustrating. Our young team cant close games and is very inexperienced. DWI. They will get better, and next year will show that.

I really didn't have an expectation for this year because of what you just said the loss of our entire starting lineup. I agree we are young and cant close out games. The thing that frustrates me the most is the way we have assembled the team. Because we have had players that stuck around so long we have really hurt our chances of building a contender. Its really no fault of Donovan he cant force players to leave so instead of getting a chance to build a team through recruiting we have had to rely on transfers to fill our voids. The other thing that frustrates me is the play of Walker and Hill both were five stars and they just aren't living up to their hype especially Walker. I understand they are young we have held double digit leads in about half of our losses and the majority of the time we are holding that lead at some point in the second half. We have lost 6 games by 2 points or less some of those loses are just plain bad luck, some of them due to inexperience. Will it get better yes, next year maybe. I do think we will need about 2 years to recover from losing all those seniors.

Agreed.

Even the blue bloods have rebuilding years. Anyone who hates on Donovan or this team is a damn fool.

I'm not worried about it. Really expected it tbh. This team is just too inexperienced playing together and nobody has a dominant personality for scoring.

EDIT: The one thing that has me not giving up on this team is they haven't quit yet. I won't quit watching until they quit. No matter how many yrs it takes off my life.

Yep. While it's frustrating to lose more than we'd like, Donovan absolutely deserves a pass for this year. Still one of the best in the business and quite honestly, one of the GOAT Gator Coaches.

Big thing, like dmb89 says, at least they are having a chance in a lot of the games. Always like to see a team at least put out a good effort, that's really the least I can ask for.

The only thing that's pissed me off is the FT shooting at times.

We'll be fine as a program, no doubt.

On the message boards some people are pretty pissed at Donovan's recruiting, the transfer situation, and his rotations. There's one guy in particular who thinks we're in a downward spiral and that Donovan has lost it Walker and Hill were highly ranked recruits in Florida. People were happy when we landed them. Now they blame Billy for getting them.

And boxxer, I agree. It's frustrating to watch this team but it's a bad year. I will never understand the fans who expect our program to be Kentucky or Kansas. We don't have anywhere near the fan support or history those schools have. The team will get better next year. I don't understand how the scholarships are going to work itself out or if Allen is going to stick to his commitment. Looking forward to the O'Dome improvements too.

While that's unfortunate, really not worthy of melting over BD.

What a fricking idiot

While both have been disappointing at times, the last part is just comical.

I think the only time I was disappointed at the program in not making the tourney was 08-09 (they year after the NIT), but we got it going the following year to start a great run. As long as they are in the thick of things to make a tourney run, that's really all I want to see. Once in a while, shite happens, though.

Yeah, FB is obviously the king, but I've always enjoyed Gator hoops as much as anything.

Certainly, I really hope we get it going next year. While this year sucks, still love what this program has to offer.

I can't believe I quoted all that shite

Agreed, nothing to panic about, rebuilding. If we want to bitch, lets agree to bitch about the last 2 years of football.

I think a lot of the frustration comes from football. I know personally I was so pissed how this last season turned out I was so pumped to see the BB team kick arse. When that didn't materialize it was a big letdown. I do think UF will have a much improved team next year and if Billy can keep them together and working more as a team we can make a tourney run.

Chiozza better be the starting point guard next year. Hill had more turnovers than points and bricked 2 free throws at the end of the game.
